HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section 4 of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, of the provisions of section 5 of the same Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, appointed for a term of three years the persons named in the second column of the following Schedule to be members of the Harbour Board named in the first column of such Schedule, these appointments to take effect from the last Wednesday in April, 1920—that is, from the 28th day of that month.

Special Orders made by the Moa Road Board.

THE following special orders, made by the Moa Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

MOA ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in it in that behalf by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling, and with the written consent of the ratepayers of the Bedford Road North of Dudley Road Special Rating Area hereinafter described, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the aforesaid Bedford Road North of Dudley Road Special Rating Area the capital value of whose properties as appearing on the valuation roll of the district is collectively greater than the capital value of the properties of those ratepayers who did not so consent, the Moa Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

That, for the purpose of erecting bridges over the Wai-ongona-iti and Waiongona-nui Streams, and making the necessary approaches within the Bedford Road North of Dudley Road Special Rating Area, the Moa Road Board hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £700, such loan to be for a period of thirty-six years and a half, at the rate of £5 12s. 2d. per centum per annum; to strike as security for such loan a special rate of one penny and three-fifths in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Bedford Road North of Dudley Road Special Rating Area, comprising Section 112, Block IV, Egmont Survey District, Sections 1 and 2, part 3 (containing 50 acres), 112, 113, 114, and part 115 (containing 32 acres 3 roods 25 perches), Block VIII, Egmont Survey District, which are hereby constituted the Bedford Road North of Dudley Road Special Rating Area; and to pay out of such loan the cost of raising.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly passed in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908, at a special meeting of the Moa Road Board held on the 6th day of December, 1919, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 10th day of January, 1920.

Resolution making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Moa Road Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments of principal, interest, and also the other charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the Moa Road Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of grading and metal-ling Kohete Road within the Kohete No. 2 Special Rating Area, the said Moa Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and a half in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kohete No. 2 Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block VII, Section 29, Block II, and Sections 50 and 58, Block III, Huiroa Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of an extract from the minute-book of the Moa Road Board, and that the resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Moa Road Board held at Inglewood on Wednesday, the 10th day of March, 1920.

Special Order authorizing Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Clerk of the Board of the Kakepuku Road District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

KAKEPUKU ROAD BOARD.
Special Order.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Kakepuku Road District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers in the said district the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said district is collectively greater than the capital value of properties of ratepayers who did not so consent, the Kakepuku Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:—

For the purpose of metalling Corlett’s, Te Mawhai, and Melville’s Roads, Raupara Road to Waitomo County boundary, balance of money from Snell’s Hill to Raupara Road corner for the first time, in the said district, the Kakepuku Road Board hereby authorizes the raising of a loan of £2,500, at four and a half per centum per annum, for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and declares that the cost of raising the
