WHAKATANE HARBOUR BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to borrow the Sum of £6,500.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Whakatane Harbour District taken on the 11th day of March,
1920, on the proposal of the Whakatane Harbour Board to
borrow the sum of £6,500 for further improvements to the
harbour at Whakatane, the number of votes recorded for
the proposal was 127, and the number of votes recorded against
the proposal was 36; informal votes, 2.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the County of Waipawa taken on the 5th day of May, 1919,
on the proposal of the Waipawa County Council to borrow
the sum of £25,000 for the purpose of the erection of new
bridges, purchase of roadmaking machinery and plant,
acquisition of land and erection of roadmen's cottages, in
the County of Waipawa, the number of votes recorded for
the proposal was 387, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 134.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

I, Francis Henry Dillon Bell, Minister of Internal
Affairs, and the Minister charged with the administration
of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 4th May, 1920,
to be the day for the holding of an election of three members
of the Taumarunui Fire Board by the contributing local
authority; and I do further appoint Monday, the 10th May,
1920, to be the day for the holding of an election of three
members of the said Taumarunui Fire Board by the fire-
insurance companies which for the time being are carrying
on business within the said Taumarunui Fire District.
