Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of the Borough of Masterton.

Wellington, 23rd April, 1920.
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, it is hereby notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Masterton, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the said area may be excluded from the said county and included in the Borough of Masterton; that the said borough, with such addition as hereinbefore described, be divided into two wards, to be known as the Masterton Ward, the boundaries whereof shall be the present Borough of Masterton, and the Lansdowne Ward, the boundaries whereof shall be those described in the Schedule hereto; that the Council of the said divided borough consist of twelve members, and that nine members be elected to represent the Masterton Ward thereof and three members to represent the Lansdowne Ward. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against these proposals within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF MASTERTON.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the eastern side of the railway reserve with the northern boundary of Section 65, Block XIII, Kopuaranga Survey District, and proceeding easterly along the said northern boundary of Section 65 to and across the main Masterton–Eketahuna Road; thence along the eastern side of that road to and along the southern side of Fifth Street to Manuka Street; thence along the western side of that street to the northern side of the said Fifth Street; and thence easterly in the production of the said northern side of Fifth Street, across Manuka Street, to the western side of Gordon Street, and along the western side of that street and the northern side of the Masterton–Waimate Road to the right bank of the Waipoura River, and north-westerly along that bank to and along the south-eastern side of the railway reserve to the point of commencement.
