Appointment of Member of First Division of the Court of Appeal.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this twentieth day of April, 1920.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council made on the nineteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, under the Judicature Amendment Act, 1913, the Honourable John Henry Hosking, a Judge of the Supreme Court, was appointed a member of the First Division of the Court of Appeal:

And whereas, owing to the incapacity through illness of the said Judge, it is expedient to revoke his appointment as a member of the First Division and to appoint the Honourable Alexander Lawrence Herdman in his place:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in exercise of the authority conferred upon him by the Judicature Amendment Act, 1913, and in pursuance of the recommendation of the Chief Justice of New Zealand and of two other Judges of the Supreme Court, doth hereby revoke the said appointment of the Honourable John Henry Hosking and appoint the Honourable Alexander Lawrence Herdman a Judge of the Supreme Court as a member of the First Division of the Court of Appeal; and in all other respects the aforesaid Order in Council of the nineteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, is hereby confirmed.

Vesting a Reserve in the Rangitikei County Council.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of April, 1920.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for a site for a roadman’s cottage: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Rangitikei County Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section four of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Rangitikei County Council, in trust, for a site for a roadman’s cottage.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 2 acres, more or less, being Section No. 11, Block II, Maungakaretu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Turakina Road, 710 links; towards the north-east by Section No. 3, Block II aforesaid, 270 links; towards the east generally by a road and river-bank reserve one chain wide along the bank of the Turakina River; and towards the south by a public road, 578·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 1910/2030, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Polling-places for the Stratford Electoral District appointed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Legislature Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby abolish all existing polling-places, and do hereby appoint the places mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be the polling-places in the said Electoral District of Stratford.

Declaring Road-line through Land in Moorlands Settlement, Marlborough Land District, to be closed.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS a report has been received from the Surveyor-General, from which it appears that the road described in the Schedule hereto is unformed and unused, and that the said road intersects land acquired under the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and is not suitable to the subdivision of such land:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the road hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the said road shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.
