namely, the construction of waterworks for the supply of water as an extension or enlargement of the existing Waipawa Borough waterworks and sewerage system, and for that purpose to construct an additional reservoir or reservoirs for storing water, and to purchase all such piping, fittings, appliances, and materials, and do all such work as may be deemed necessary for the proper completion of such work.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 83, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12; the number of informal votes was 2. Majority in favour of the proposal, 71.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Special Loan of £4,500 for Streets Improvements within the Town District.
NOTICE is hereby given that a poll was taken by the Papakura Town Board on the 10th day of December, 1919, upon the proposal of the said Board to raise a special loan of £4,500 for the formation, grading, and metalling of the whole or portions of the following streets :-

I accordingly declare the said proposal to be carried.
Special Loan of £2,000 for Purchase of Lease.
Notice is hereby given that a poll was taken by the Papakura Town Board on the 10th day of December, 1919, upon the proposal of the Papakura Town Board to raise a special loan of £2,000 for the purchase of the surrender of the lease held by Messrs. Blank and Davis over a portion of the Board’s endowments and the improvements thereon, part to be used for a public park and recreation-ground and the remainder to be leased in sections, and that the result of such poll was as follows: Number of votes recorded for the proposal, 122; number of votes recorded against the proposal, 63.
I accordingly declare the said proposal to be carried.

AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Papakauri Special Rating Area taken on the 13th day of December, 1919, on the proposal of the Awakino County Council to borrow the sum of £750 for the purpose of forming, widening, culverting, and metalling the eastern end of the Papakauri Road, a distance of two miles and a half, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 6, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Raupo Drainage District was taken on the 17th day of December, 1919, on the proposal of the Raupo Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £12,500 for the purchase of a dredge and drainage purposes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 127, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 40.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

I HEREBY give notice that on Saturday, the 20th day of December, 1919, separate polls were taken upon proposals of the Invercargill Borough Council to raise special loans as hereunder stated, and that the number of votes recorded for and against the respective proposals was as hereunder set out :-
£29,760, for street improvements and drainage: Votes for the proposal, 723; votes against the proposal, 250.
£4,000, for improving endowments and purchasing tenants’ interests in endowments: Votes for the proposal, 657; votes against the proposal, 312.
£12,500, for improvements and additions to waterworks: Votes for the proposal, 742; votes against the proposal, 240.
£2,000, for improvements to theatre: Votes for the proposal, 695; votes against the proposal, 275.
£1,925, for purchase of land for municipal buildings: Votes for the proposal, 667; votes against the proposal, 307.
£5,000, towards erection of municipal buildings: Votes for the proposal, 654; votes against the proposal, 315.
£50,000, for additions and improvements to tramways, buildings, and plant: Votes for the proposal, 734; votes against the proposal, 241.
£10,000, for additions and improvements to electric light and power works: Votes for the proposal, 753; votes against the proposal, 213.
I declare the proposals in respect of all the foregoing loans to be carried.
