HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL LOAN OF £11,000.—RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hastings Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £11,000, authorized to be raised by the Hastings Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act and under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its amendments (and under section 114 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1919, to be expended for the following purposes:—

(1.) To purchase from Mrs. James Garnett Sections 210 and 211 fronting the railway-line and lying between Eastbourne Street and Lyndon Road (to enable the Council to carry out an arrangement made with William Frederick Knight and Francis John Knight to extend Station Street to a width less than 66 feet from Heretaunga Street to Lyndon Road). . . £ 8,000

(2.) To provide for the construction-works of the said extension, and also of Eastbourne Street from Karamu Road to the railway crossing 2,285

(3.) Interest and sinking fund for the first year . . 715

the said Hastings Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/85d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Hastings, comprising the whole of the said borough; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £90,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for street improvement and drainage works in the Grey Lynn District of the City of Auckland, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence three farthings (2¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Grey Lynn District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 21 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE Partnership heretofore subsisting between ARTHUR JULIUS NEILSON and SAMUEL ROBERTSON MURRAY, carrying on business as Iron-founders under the style of “Neilson, Murray, and Frederic,” has been dissolved by mutual consent. The business will be continued under the same style by SAMUEL ROBERTSON MURRAY alone, and he will receive all moneys due to and discharge all liabilities of the Partnership.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Manukau County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for constructing approaches to new high-level bridge at Manurewa, the said Manukau County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special rating area, comprising all that area of land at Manurewa being part Lot 4 and Lot 6 of part Clendon’s Grant, Lots 8 to 28 and 45 to 49 (inclusive) of Martin’s Estate, and Lot 7, Jellicoe Estate, as shown on plan deposited in the office of the said Council; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution duly carried at a general meeting of the Karamea Hall Company (Limited) duly held on the 23rd day of February, 1920, Mr. JAMES SIMPSON, of Westport, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator in succession to Mr. James Joseph Molony, originally appointed, but subsequently resigned.

CHANGE OF NAME.

I, OLIVER CHRISTIE AITCHISON, heretofore called Oliver Christie Volbehr, of Grey Lynn, in the Provincial District of Auckland and Dominion of New Zealand, Baker’s Assistant, hereby give public notice that on the 10th day of February, 1920, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the use of my said surname “Volbehr,” and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Aitchison” instead of the name of “Volbehr”; and I give further notice that by deed-poll dated the 10th day of February, 1920, and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court at Auckland, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Volbehr” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “Aitchison” instead of “Volbehr,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and subscribed by the name of OLIVER CHRISTIE AITCHISON exclusively.
