N.Z., now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 1st April next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Wellington.

I, THOMAS PHILLIP DAVIS HENDERSON, of Westmere, near Wanganui, in the Dominion of New Zealand, Farmer, hereby give public notice that I have renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of the said surname of Henderson, and have assumed and adopted and determined on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the surname of DAVIS instead of the surname of Henderson; and I give further notice that by deed-poll dated the twelfth day of February, 1920, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Wanganui, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of Henderson and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of DAVIS instead of Henderson, and so to be at all times hereafter called, known, and described by the name of THOMAS PHILLIP DAVIS exclusively.

In the matter of Letters Patent of THE RIDD COMPANY (LIMITED), of Queen Street, New Plymouth, New Zealand, and bearing date the 9th day of October, 1906, and numbered 21897, in respect of “Improvements in or relating to Milking-machines.”
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the above-named the Ridd Company (Limited) to present a petition to the Supreme Court of New Zealand praying that the term of the said Letters Patent may be extended; and notice is hereby further given that on the 3rd day of May, 1920, or on such subsequent day as the Court shall appoint for that purpose, application will be made to the Court that a day may be fixed before which the petition will not be heard, and any person desirous of being heard in opposition to the said petition must lodge notice of his objection at the Registry of the said Court at Wellington on or before the 3rd day of May, 1920. The petitioner’s address for service is at the office of Messrs. Henry Hughes (Limited), Featherston Street, in the City of Wellington.

MANAIA TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £10,000 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WORKERS’ DWELLINGS.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by section 16 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and section 51 of the Housing Act, 1919, and any other authority it thereunto enabling, the Manaia Town Board doth hereby resolve by way of special order as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £10,000, authorized to be raised by the Manaia Town Board for the purpose of construction of workers’ dwellings, the said Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and three-eighths in the pound on the capital value of the whole of the rateable property within the Manaia Town District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on 1st April and 1st October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

BOROUGH OF DANNEVIRKE.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Dannevirke Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £25,000, under the above-mentioned Act (by a poll of the ratepayers taken on the 18th day of February, 1920), for the purpose of purchasing the assets of the Dannevirke Gas Company (Limited), stocks on hand, and other manufacturing and trading stock, extensions of mains, providing main pipes, services, &c., and all equipment in connection therewith, and to extend the retort bench and other plant in unison therewith when required, and all equipment in connection therewith, and all contingencies, preliminary expenses, cost of raising loan, and portion of first year’s interest (if necessary), the said Dannevirke Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one farthing (1¼d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Dannevirke; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING HELD ON THE 19TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1920, AT 11 A.M.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Waitomo County Council Te Mapara Loan of £1,695, 1920, authorized to be raised by the Council, under the above-mentioned Act, being part of the loan of four thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£4,250)—for the purpose of, in so far as relates to three thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£3,250), reforming, culverting, and metalling the Te Mapara Road from the junction with the Te Kuiti–Piopio Road at the twelve-mile peg to the junction of the Kahuwera Road, and the Kahuwera Road from the Te Mapara Road junction to connect with a small metalling scheme from the Piopio–Aria Road about half-way between the east and western boundaries of Sections 3 and 8, Block IV, Totoro Survey District; £500 for reculverting, forming, and metalling portion of the Te Mapara Road from its junction with the Kahuwera Road towards the western boundary of Section 4, Block V, Totoro Survey District; and £500 for reforming, culverting, and metalling portions of the Tikitiki Road from its junction with the Kahuwera Road as far as the money will permit—the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Te Mapara Special Rating Area.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of April and October in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
