Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the Marlborough Acclimatization Society, Blenheim, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

  3. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Feilding and District Acclimatization District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Feilding and District Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north by the Kawhatau and Pourangaki Streams from the Rangitikei River to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence towards the east generally by the summit of that range to the Manawatu Gorge, and by the Manawatu River to the Raukawa Road; thence towards the south generally by that road which forms the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 455 and 454, Block VIII, Kai-ranga Survey District, to the Palmerston-Ashhurst Road; thence by that road to Stony Creek Road; thence by that road and the railway-line to the Oroua River; thence by that river to Awahuri; and thence by the Awahuri-Bull’s Road to the Rangitikei River; and towards the north-west generally by the Rangitikei River to the Kawhatau Stream aforesaid; and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license, and the fee payable therefor.

REGULATIONS.

  1. Red deer (stags only) may be taken or killed within the Feilding and District Acclimatization District from the 15th day of March, 1920, to the 30th day of April, 1920, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Postmasters at Feilding and Apiti, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than three stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

  4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Placing Kapuni Stream under Sole Control of Hawera Borough Council.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section sixty-five of the Public Health Act, 1908, it is provided that in any case where, on the report of the District Health Officer, the Governor-General thinks it expedient in the interests of the public health so to do he may, by notice in the Gazette, place any specified stream or any specified portion thereof under the sole control of any one specified local authority, notwithstanding that it may not be within the district of such local authority or on land belonging to such local authority:

And whereas the District Health Officer has recommended that the Kapuni Stream should be placed under the sole control of the Hawera Borough Council:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section sixty-five of the Public Health Act, 1908, do by this notice place that portion of the Kapuni Stream described in the Schedule hereto under the sole control of the Hawera Borough Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Kapuni Stream and its tributaries, approximately nine miles in length, between the boundary of the Egmont National Park in Block III, Kaupokonui Survey District, and the intake of the Hawera Borough Council’s water-supply in Section 4, Block XVI, Kaupokonui Survey District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Wellington, and Southland Land Districts.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the sixty-ninth section of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, it is further provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, as he thinks fit, set aside reserves for any specified public purpose out of land acquired under the last-mentioned Act, provided that no land so acquired shall be set for endowments:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the North Auck-
