by a line along the summit of the southern watershed of the Maruia River to Mount Haast; thence by a line due north to the right bank of the Inangahua River, and along that bank to and along the left bank of the Buller River to the mouth of the Eight-mile or Boundary Creek; thence by a line up a leading spur on the western side of said Boundary Creek to Bald Hill, and by a line along the summit of Lyell Range and along the summit of a range over Mount Luna to Mount Arthur; thence towards the south-west by a line along the summit of the western ranges over Mount Peel and Mount Snowdon to Mount Cobb; thence towards the south-east by a line along the summit of range over Mount Domett and down a leading spur to the Tasman Sea at Kohaihai Bluff, the place of commencement: and the conditions affecting same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.
REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the Nelson Acclimatization District from the 28th day of February, 1920, to the 30th day of April, 1920, both days inclusive.

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Nelson, and the Postmaster at Motueka, on payment of a license fee of £1 1s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than six stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than four points.

No doe, hind, or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the Nelson Acclimatization Society, Nelson, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Waitaki.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Waitaki Acclimatization District, comprising all that area in the Canterbury and Otago Land Districts bounded towards the north-west by the summit of the Southern Alps from the north-eastern corner of Vincent County to Mount Cook; thence towards the north-east by a right line over Ball Hut to the Tasman Glacier, by the western side of the Tasman Glacier to the Tasman River, by a line along the middle of that river and through the middle of Lake Pukaki and along the middle of the Pukaki River and the middle of the Waitaki River to the sea; towards the east by the sea; to Waihemo County; and towards the south-west and west by Waihemo, Maniototo, and Vincent Counties to the summit of the Southern Alps, the place of commencement; and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.
REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the Waitaki Acclimatization District from the 1st day of April, 1920, to the 20th day of May, 1920 (both days inclusive).

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Oamaru, on the recommendation of the secretary of the Waitaki Acclimatization Society, at Oamaru, on payment of a license fee of £3, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and the regulations made thereunder.

No licensee shall take or kill more than four stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points. Ball cartridge only to be used.

An additional license to take or kill red-deer stags may be issued to any person at a fee of £2, and no holder of such additional license shall take or kill more than two stags under or by virtue of such license, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points. Ball cartridge only to be used.

No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

The licensee must give notice to the said Chief Postmaster of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Blenheim, and the Postmaster at Havelock, on payment of a license fee of £1, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than six red-deer stags or fallow-deer bucks, and no red-deer stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than eight points.
