Lieutenant E. N. Valpy to be Supply Officer, No. 4 Company, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 16th March, 1919.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Major C. E. Hercus, D.S.O., from D.A.D.M.S., A. & N.Z. Mounted Division, having been appointed A.D.M.S., A. & N.Z. Mounted Division, vice Colonel D. G. Croft, A.A.M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 21st March, 1919.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on Palmerston North, Feilding, and Petone Fire Boards by Fire-insurance Companies.

Pursuant to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 26th August, 1919, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Palmerston North, Feilding, and Petone Fire Boards by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. T. P. B. Ching.

PARAWERA ROAD BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Parawera Road Board was taken on the 14th day of February, 1919, on the proposal of the Parawera Road Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 for forming and metalling roads for the first time.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 42, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 2. I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
