Notifying Land in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Town Land.—Town of Hull.
SECTIONS 1, 2, and 9, Block V; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block VI; Sections 1, 2, 5, and 6, Block VII; and Section 1, Block VIII.
Area of each section, 1 rood.
Upset price for each section, £5.
Good building-sites, covered with light manuka scrub, situated at the mouth of the Taieri River. The locality is rising in prominence as a seaside resort. The nearest railway-station is Henley, on the main line. Communication is by motor-launch, and the journey down the river gives a view of very fine scenery. School and post and telegraph offices are quite convenient.
Suburban Land.—Town of Sutton.
Section 1, Block X: Area, 35 perches; upset price, £2 10s.
Section 2, Block X: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £2 10s.
Section 14, Block XII: Area, 1 rood 8 perches; upset price, £2 10s.
Level sections, good building-sites, close to Sutton Railway-siding on the Otago Central line.

Opening National Endowment Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection by Discharged Soldiers on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto, which has been set apart for selection by discharged soldiers, shall be open for selection by discharged soldiers on renewable lease on Monday, the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
SECTION 36828, Blocks IV and VIII, Kowai Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Oxford Survey District: Area, 2,077 acres; half-yearly rent, £62 10s.
Mostly low hills, ranging from 1,400 ft. to 2,800 ft. About 250 acres of birch bush; remainder open country, carrying good tussock and a little exotic grass, with patches of manuka scrub. Well watered. The improvements that go with the land comprise 625 chains fencing.

Opening Land in North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection by Discharged Soldiers.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, which has been set apart for selection by discharged soldiers, shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the nineteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hokianga County.—Tutamoe Survey District.
SECTION 2, Block X: Area, 677 acres 0 roods 6 perches. Capital value, £630. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £15 15s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12 12s.
Altitude, 1,750 ft. to 2,213 ft. above sea-level. About 50 acres undulating, balance broken; all covered with mixed forest comprising towai, tawa, rata, miro, taraire, and a few totara-trees, with dense undergrowth of kiekie, supplejack, ferns, &c. Soil inferior to medium, on sandstone formation; well watered by streams. Situated about ten miles from Kaihu by cart-road in poor repair.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
