WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Taranaki and Southland Land Districts described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.


SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 1 rood 23 perches, more or less, being Section 6, Whangamomona Suburbs, Block I, Mahoe Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 5, Whangamomona Suburbs, 214, 186·7, 384, 238·5, and 337·4 links; towards the east by Section 7, Whangamomona Suburbs, 207·2 and 711·9 links; towards the south by the Ohura Road, 162·7 and 457·8 links; and towards the south and west generally by Pleasant Terrace, 164·9, 145·8, 424, and 342·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/8/5, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink. For a site for a public hospital.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 76 acres 3 roods 23·8 perches, more or less, being Section 5R and part of Section 14, Block I, Lillburn District. Bounded commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 14, Block I aforesaid; thence at a bearing 303° 29′ for a distance of 1681·4 links; thence at a bearing of 349° 25′ for a distance of 293·3 links; thence at a bearing of 24° 35′ for a distance of 265 links; thence at a bearing of 58° 59′ for a distance of 312·8 links; thence at a bearing of 43° 19′ for a distance of 512·5 links; thence at a bearing of 33° 5′ for a distance of 327 links; thence at a bearing of 53° 19′ for a distance of 333·6 links; thence at a bearing of 18° 10′ for a distance of 290 links; thence at a bearing of 55° 39′ for a distance of 409 links; thence at a bearing of 66° 25′ for a distance of 588 links; thence at a bearing of 84° 53′ for a distance of 297·3 links; thence at a bearing of 84° 8′ for a distance of 536 links to the north-eastern boundary of Section 14 aforesaid; thence at a bearing of 130° 31′ 40″ for a distance of 1509 links; thence at a bearing of 134° 49′ for a distance of 100·3 links; thence at a bearing of 299° 7′ 30″ for a distance of 1199·2 links; thence at a bearing of 93° 31′ for a distance of 1508 links to the south-eastern corner of Section 5A, Block I aforesaid; thence at a bearing of 183° 52′ for a distance of 100 links; thence at a bearing of 273° 31′ for a distance of 1609·6 links; thence at a bearing of 229° 7′ 30″ for a distance of 2075 links; thence at a bearing of 310° 33′ for a distance of 101·1 links; thence at a bearing of 229° 7′ 30″ for a distance of 101·1 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/573, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. For an addition to a public recreation-ground.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 16 acres 0 roods 3 perches, more or less, being Section 20, Block I, Lillburn District, and bounded commencing at the southernmost corner of Section 14, Block I aforesaid; thence at a bearing of 229° 59′ for a distance of 338 links; thence at a bearing of 258° 8′ 30″ for a distance of 1430·3 links; thence at a bearing of 312° 36′ for a distance of 682·7 links; thence at a bearing 39° 2′ for a distance of 313·7 links; thence at a bearing of 40° 40′ for a distance of 355·7 links; thence at a bearing of 58° 16′ for a distance of 439·7 links; thence at a bearing of 349° 25′ for a distance of 235·9 links to the south-western boundary of Section 14 aforesaid; thence south-easterly along the said south-western boundary for a distance of 1681·4 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 16/573A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For an addition to a public recreation-ground.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block XIII, Town of Ormondville, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General, for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for a site for a Courthouse, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of portion of such reserve so set apart:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the purpose of portion of the said reserve is hereby changed from a site for a Courthouse to an addition to a site for a post-office. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block XIII, Town of Ormondville. Bounded towards the north generally by Section 1, 82·2 links; towards the east by Section 2, Block XIII aforesaid, 136·1 links; towards the south by a public road, 73·91 links; and towards the west by Section 1 aforesaid, 100·1 links, to point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/3/156, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
