RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Marton Jockey Club at a meeting held on the
20th day of May, 1919, at Marton, with a recommendation by
the Chairman of the Club, Mr R. E. Beckett, that the same
be passed at once with a view to their approval by the
Governor-General, in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908,
section 33.

Mr. R. E. Beckett, the Chairman of the Club and the
Meeting, moved, and Mr. S. J. Gibbons seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication
thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

MARTON JOCKEY CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Marton
Jockey Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act
(hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth hereby
revoke the regulations dated the 26th day of October, 1915,
and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following regulations
controlling the admission of persons to that part of the race-
course situated in the district of Rangitikei, and known as
the Marton Racecourse, while the said racecourse is used or
occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "racing
    club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used or
    occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—

(a.) Bookmakers.

(b.) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and book-
makers' agents.

(c.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New
Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or else-
where, if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Con-
ference, or the New Zealand Trotting Association,
or the New Zealand Trotting Conference.

(d.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no lawful
visible means of support.

(e.) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-
breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or
possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences,
receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any
offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act,
1908; and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues
and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted
under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons
convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

The foregoing regulations of the Marton Jockey Club
were made and passed by the Marton Jockey Club on the
20th day of May, 1919, and signed by the Chairman and
Secretary.

RESOLUTION.

THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Manawatu Trotting Club at a meeting held
on the 16th day of May, 1919, at Palmerston North, with a
recommendation by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. P. F.
O'Connor, that the same be passed at once with a view to
their approval by the Governor-General, in pursuance of the
Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. P. F. O'Connor, the Chairman of the Club and the
Meeting, moved, and Mr. D. Munro seconded, and it was
resolved, that such regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman be authorized to sign the same in authentication
thereof.

The following are the regulations referred to:—

MANAWATU TROTTING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Mana-
watu Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning of
the said Act (hereinafter referred to as "the said club"), doth
hereby revoke the regulations dated the 6th day of February,
1918, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following
regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part
of the property situated in the District of Manawatu, and
known as the Awapuni Racecourse, while the said racecourse
is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words "bookmaker," "trotting
    club," and "race meeting" shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,

HOBSON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Hobson County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of one thousand pounds sterling (£1,000),
authorized to be raised by the Hobson County Council, under
the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of the Kaihu
Bridge, the said Hobson County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the £1
upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Kaihu
Bridge Special Rating Area, comprising the following area,—

Starting from the south-west corner of Section 18 of
Block XII, Waipoua S.D.; thence along the block-line to
the north-west corner of Section 23 of Block I, Kai Iwi S.D.;
thence along the western boundary of said Section 23 to the
Kai Iwi Lake; thence along the southern boundary of said
Section 23 and south and eastern boundaries of the Kauri-
gum Reserve in Block I, Kaihu S.D., to the south-west corner
of Section 15 of Block I, Kaihu S.D.; thence by the southern
boundaries of Sections 15, 13, 12, 11, of Block I, Kaihu S.D.;
thence by the south-west boundaries of Opanake No. 2D and
Opanake No. 2E 1; thence along the southern and south-
eastern boundaries of Opanake No. 2E 1 to the Kaihu Stream ;
thence by the Kaihu Stream to the south-east corner of part
Opanake No. 1-2285A ; thence by the eastern boundary of
said Opanake No. 1-2285A and eastern boundary of Sec-
tions 3, 2, and 5 of Block XIV, Tutamoe S.D.; thence along
the block-line to the north-east boundary of Opanake No. 1E ;
thence to the Terawhiti Trig.; thence by the north-west
boundary of Opanake No. 1B to the junction of the Kaihu
Stream with the Waima Stream; thence by the Waima
Stream to the south-west corner of Section 13 of Block VIII,
Waipoua S.D.; thence by the western boundary of Sections 13,
23, and 22 of the said Block VIII to the Waipoua River;
thence by the Waipoua River to the sea; and thence by the
sea to the starting-point.
