Validating Poll on Proposal to adopt Rating on Unimproved Value, Manawatu County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

WHEREAS the Council of the Manawatu County having failed through misadventure to take a poll on the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, being the day fixed for taking a poll on the proposal to adopt the system of rating on the unimproved value in the county:
And whereas the said poll was taken on the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and the notification of the result of the said poll was published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, in accordance with the provisions of section thirty-nine of the Rating Act, 1908:
And whereas it is deemed expedient to validate the said poll:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section one hundred and seven of the Rating Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the said poll shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though it was taken on the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Black and Brown Teal protected absolutely in the Southland Acclimatization District.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do by this notification prohibit absolutely the taking or killing of the birds mentioned in the Schedule hereto, being birds indigenous to the said Dominion of New Zealand, in the Southland Acclimatization District, consisting of so much of the County of Southland as lies to the westward of the Mataura River, together with the Counties of Fiord, Wallace, and Stewart Island; and I do hereby declare that this notification shall take effect on the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Small Islet lying to the North of Somes Island in Port Nicholson to be a Sanctuary for Imported and Native Game.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare the small islet lying to the north of Somes Island in Port Nicholson to be a sanctuary for the purposes of the Animals Protection Act, and that no imported or native game shall be taken or killed in the said area.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Special Shooting Season for Native Game, Chatham Islands.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby exempt from the operation of section twenty-six of the said Act the Chatham Islands County, comprising the Chatham Islands; and do notify that the following native game—namely, grey duck—may be killed within the said Chatham Islands County from the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, both days inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block V, Poerua Survey District, Westland Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms portion of an area which was heretofore duly set apart as a resting-place for travelling stock, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose for which such portion of such reserve was so set apart:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the purpose of portion of the said reserve is hereby changed from a resting-place for travelling stock to a site for a rifle range. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 38 acres 3 roods 13 perches, more or less, being Reserve 765 (formerly portion of Reserve 345), Block V, Poerua Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Reserve 1379, and proceeding along the southern side of the main South Road to the north-western corner of Reserve 340, 382·8 links; thence along the western boundary of said Reserve 340, 1000 links; thence along the southern boundary of the said reserve, 500 links; thence in a southerly direction along the western boundary of Section 162, 3020·8 links; thence in a westerly direction on a bearing of 278° 7′, 1409·1 links; thence in a northerly direction on a bearing of 22° 37′, 3160·5 links, to the south-eastern corner of Reserve 1379; all situated in Block V aforesaid; thence along the eastern boundary of said reserve, 1000 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/11/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
