And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of Station Road, in the Canterbury Land District, Heathcote County, situated between Smith Street and Short Street. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45835, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Scale of Salaries and Increments of Salaries for Officers of the Clerical Division of the Public Service.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-two, subsection three, of the Appropriation Act, 1918, it is provided that the Third Schedule of the Public Service Act, 1912, establishing a scale of salaries and increments of salaries for officers of the Clerical Division of the Public Service, is repealed as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen:
And whereas it is further provided that there shall be substituted for the scale so repealed a scale to be established by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me as aforesaid, and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby substitute for the scale so repealed the scale set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

VII: £65 to £95 by increments of £15.
Then by one increment of £25 to £120, and £20 to £140, and £25 to £165, and £15 to £180.
Thereafter £180 to £270 by increments of £20 per annum.
Under no circumstances shall an officer be advanced (a) beyond £180 and (b) beyond £220 until he has given satisfactory proof to the Commissioner of his efficiency.

Stoats and Weasels protected in Hurunui Rabbit District.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section seven of the Animals Protection Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby suspend the operation of the said section seven within the area specified in the Schedule hereto with respect to stoats and weasels.
SCHEDULE.
HURUNUI RABBIT DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canterbury and Nelson bounded towards the north-west by the Counties of Grey and Inangahua; towards the north-east by a line to the western shore of Lake Tennyson; thence by that lake and the River Clarence to the track over Jack’s Pass; thence by that track to the Hanmer Plains main road; thence by that road to the bridge at the Upper Waiau-ua River; thence by the Waiau-ua River to the ocean; thence towards the south-east to the ocean to the Waipara River; thence towards the south-west by the said Waipara River, and its south branch to its source; thence by a straight line to Block Hill; thence by straight lines over Ashley Head, Seaward Head, and Esk Head to and along the summit of the watershed between the Rivers Hurunui and Poulter to the Southern Alps; and thence again towards the north-west by the County of Westland.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £1,000 proposed to be raised by the Raetihi Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Raetihi Town Board lately proposed to raise a loan of one thousand pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of completing the construction of the water-supply and sewage works:
And whereas an irregularity or defect occurred both in the notice published in pursuance of section nine of the said Act and in the voting-paper used at the poll upon the said proposal, in that the term of the said loan (namely, thirty-six years and a half) was not set forth in such notice and voting-paper:
And whereas the first publication of the date of the poll of the ratepayers upon the said proposal was not made not less than fourteen days before the date of the said poll as required by subsection two of section ten of the above-named Act:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularities or defects, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the term of the said loan had been stated in the said notice and voting-paper, and as though the requirements of subsection two of section ten of the said Act as above mentioned had been strictly complied with, and that the proceedings shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularities or defects aforesaid.
