SCHEDULE II.

COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE AT THE

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT made this day of , one thousand nine hundred and , between , of the one part, and , Director of the (hereinafter called the Director), of the other part, whereby it is mutually agreed between the parties as follows :—

(1.) The Director will, at the request of the said , and upon the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, accept and enrol and instruct , the of the said , as a student at the , subject to the condition that the said shall be as fully amenable to the regulations for compulsory attendance at continuation or technical classes, dated , as if he [she] were in fact a young person to whom such regulations were applicable.

(2.) The said hereby agrees that the enrolment of his [her] son [daughter, employee], , as a pupil at the renders the said fully amenable to the regulations, dated , requiring compulsory attendance as follows—namely, that the said shall attend for not less than four hours in each of thirty weeks between the first Monday in March and the last Friday in November in each year ; provided that a boy who is undergoing military training in accordance with the regulations for the time being in force under the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, shall not be required to devote more than six hours altogether in each week to military training and to attendance at classes under the regulations for compulsory attendance.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council :

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor-General, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose :

And whereas the Heathcote County Council, being the local authority having control of the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto, has passed the following resolution—viz., “That the Heathcote County Council hereby resolves that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, relating to road-widening, shall not apply to that portion of Station Road between Smith Street and Short Street, Heathcote Valley, bounded on the east side by
