(ii.) The name of every young person in respect of whom a certificate
of exemption is issued, together with the reason for the issue of such certifi-
cate, shall be noted by the Director in the register referred to in regulation 6
hereof.

The course of instruction shall be determined by the Director of the
technical school or classes as far as possible in accordance with the individual
needs of the pupil, with due regard to the wishes of parents, guardians, or
employers of the pupil, and to the crafts and industries practised in the
district (including Agriculture, if so practised, and the domestic arts), and
shall in all cases include instruction in English, including history and civics,
and in personal hygiene and first aid, and where practicable, in the case of
girls, instruction in home nursing. Attention must also be given to physical
training where this is not otherwise provided for. -
A young person shall be deemed to be in attendance at a class if he
is present at the time prescribed in the Regulations for Manual and Technical
Instruction for the marking of the attendance register, and remains present
until the closing of the class. -
(a.) The Director of the technical school or classes shall keep a
special register of all young persons residing within the school district to
whom these regulations apply, and shall report to the Education Board the
names and addresses of young persons who fail to attend classes regularly
in accordance with these regulations.
(b.) On receipt of such report the Education Board shall take such action
as it may deem necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Education
Act, 1914, and its amendments.

Every parent, guardian, and employer within any school district to
which these regulations apply, having under his control or in his employment young persons to whom these regulations apply, shall forward the
names and addresses of all such young persons to the Director of the
technical school or classes on or before the 1st day of June, 1919, and not
later than the first Monday in February in each succeeding year. Every
employer in such school district shall also, within seven days of the date of
employment, forward to the Director of the technical school or classes the
name of every young person to whom these regulations apply who enters
his employment during the (yearly) period of compulsory attendance at
continuation or technical classes. -
In any school district any parent or guardian, or the employer with
the consent of parent or guardian, may agree with the Director of the
technical school or classes for any young person to whom these regulations
do not otherwise apply to become a compulsory student under these
regulations, and the form of such agreement shall be that set out in
Schedule II hereto.
