Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Block III, Purua Survey District, Whangarei County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a road in Block III, Purua Survey District, Whangarei County:

And whereas the Whangarei County Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45888, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Authorizing the Minister of Public Works to erect, construct, provide, and use certain Works, Appliances, and Conveniences in connection with the Utilization of Water-power from the Mangahao and Tokomaru Rivers, situated in the Land District of Wellington, for the Generation, Storage, Transmission, Distribution, and Sale of Electrical Energy, in terms of Section 272 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section two hundred and seventy-two of the Public Works Act, 1908, as amended by section six of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1910, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Minister of Public Works, within the Land District of Wellington, to erect, construct, provide, and use such works, appliances, and conveniences as may be necessary in connection with the utilization of water-power from the Mangahao and Tokomaru Rivers for the generation and storage of electrical energy, and with the transmission, use, supply, and sale of electrical energy when so generated; also to use electrical energy so generated in the construction, working, or maintenance of any public work, or for the smelting, reduction, manufacture, or development of ores, metals, or other substances; also to raise or lower the level of the said rivers, and impound or divert the waters thereof into the Mangaore Creek; also to construct tunnels under private land, or aqueducts and flumes over the same, erect poles thereon, and carry wires over or along any such land without being bound to acquire the same, and with right of way to and along all such works and erections; and also to supply and sell electrical energy, and recover moneys due for the same.

Altering Boundaries of Woodlands Drainage District, County of Piako.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this seventh day of May, 1919.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a majority of the ratepayers in the area described in the First Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Piako, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the land comprised in the said area be included in the Woodlands Drainage District as constituted under the provisions of the said Act:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the boundaries of the said Woodlands Drainage District by including in such district the area of land described in the said petition and in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with such addition as herein provided for, shall be those described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN WOODLANDS DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, commencing at a point on the boundary between Piako and Waikato Counties where the southern boundary of Lot 1 of a subdivision of Motumaho No. 1 Block, and shown on plan No. 3622, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, meets the aforesaid boundary; by the southern boundary of Lot 1 aforesaid to and across a road to the south-western corner of Lot 7, shown on L.T. Plan 6823; thence by that road to the south-western corner of Lot 5; thence by the southern and eastern boundaries of that lot and the eastern boundary of Lot 4, shown on L.T. Plan 6823; thence by Lot 9 and a public road to the north-eastern corner of Lot 3, shown on the last-mentioned plan; thence by Lots 1, 5, and 6 of a subdivision of Motumaho No. 2 Block, and that boundary produced to the Frankton-Morrinsville Railway; thence by that railway to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 2, shown on D.P. 7012; thence to and by that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Lot 3, shown on D.P. 11933; thence by that lot to the southernmost corner of Lot 2, shown on D.P. 11933; thence by the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of part Lot 1, shown on D.P. 11933, to the southern boundary of Lot 5, shown on D.P. 7012; thence by the southern and western boundaries of that lot and the western boundary produced to the northern side of the Frankton-Morrinsville Railway, and by that railway to the boundary between Piako and Waikato Counties; thence by that boundary to the place of commencement.
