Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourteenth
day of April, 1919.

IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the Go-
vernor-General may, by Order in Council gazetted, on the
recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land
comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be
specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908, and on and after the date so specified
the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to
the provisions of the Land Act, 1908 :
And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land Dis-
trict has duly passed a resolution recommending that the
portion of the Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2
described in the Schedule hereto be excepted from the
operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is
expedient to give effect to such recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and autho-
rity conferred upon me by section forty-six of the Land
Laws Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the portion of
the Opoe Kauri-gum Reserve Extension No. 2 described in
the Schedule hereto shall, from the twenty-fourth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, cease to be
subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated
in Block IV, Opoe Survey District, and containing 2,080 acres,
more or less. Commencing at a point on the northern
boundary-line of Block V, Opoe Survey District, distant
2300 links from its north-eastern corner, bounded towards the
south by Block V, Opoe Survey District, 4400 links ; towards
the south-west generally by a right line to Norton’s Store,
and by a right line to a public road at a point 3250 links in
a south-westerly direction from its junction with the Kai-
maumau Road ; towards the north-west by the aforesaid
public road and across the aforesaid Kaimaumau Road ;
again towards the south-west by the last-mentioned road,
2054·7, 2919·4, and 400 links ; towards the west by a right
line due north to the northern edge of the Waihuahua
Swamp ; towards the north-east generally by the northern
edge of the aforesaid swamp to a point due north of the
commencing-point ; and towards the east by a right line
to the said commencing-point : be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less : save and excepting the Kaimaumau Road,
which intersects the above-described area. As the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1156B, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it
is enacted that the Governor-General may from
time to time, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be
Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-General’s
pleasure :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred by the said section nine
of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby appoint
PHILIP LUSCOMBE HOLLINGS
to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office
under and subject to the provisions of the said Act, during
pleasure, on and from the twenty-fourth day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Notifying Lands in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section
of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-
sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen,
as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto
shall be sold by public auction ; and I do hereby fix the
prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those men-
tioned in the said Schedule hereto.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
TOWN LAND.
Town of Manunui.—Manunui Town District.
SECTION 118 : Area, 2 roods 9 perches ; upset price, £50.
Section 146 : Area, 2 roods 9 perches ; upset price, £75.
Weighted with £200, valuation for improvements.
Manunui is situated about five miles from Taumarunui
on Main Trunk Railway. These sections are within easy
access from Manunui Railway-station. Flat cleared land,
with a light pumiceous soil on papa formation. The im-
provements on Section 146 comprise a seven-roomed house
and fencing.
Town of Piriaka.—Kaitieke County.

Piriaka is situated on the left bank of the Wanganui River,
on the Main Trunk Railway, about five miles south-east
from railway-bridge over that river at Matapuna. The sec-
tions offered comprise undulating pumice land with a few
inches of soil, covered with manuka.
RURAL LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Kaitieke County.—Hunua Survey District.
Section 79, Block VI : Area, 94 acres 0 roods 32 perches ;
upset price, £940.
Situated immediately to the east of Kakahi Township, on
Tongariro Timber Company’s railway-line, the access being
by the Totika or Whakaraparapa Roads. Scrubby land,
with light soil on pumiceous subsoil.
Kaitieke County.—Kaitieke Survey District.
Section 1, Block IV : Area, 1 rood 8 perches ; upset price,
£80.
Weighted with £2,500, valuation for improvements.
Situated between main road and railway immediately to
the south of Owhango Railway-station. The improvements
comprise boardinghouse, twenty-two rooms, store and out-
buildings.
