Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Tahuna Special Rating Area was taken on the 12th day of March, 1919, on the proposal of the Ohinemuri County Council to borrow the sum of £10,000 for the construction of the following roads in the Patetonga Riding of the said county, viz. :—

Piako County boundary to Tahuna Post-office: £1,969 13s. 2d.

Tahuna Post-office to Maukoro Deviation: £2,277 15s. 7d.

Maukoro Deviation: £2,202 10s.

Tahuna Landing Road: £324 1s. 3d.

Tahuna to Waiti Road: £1,954.

Waiti Road to Waikato County boundary: £1,272.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 53. No votes were recorded against the proposal.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Maramarua Special Rating Area, Whangamarino Road District, taken on the 22nd day of March, 1919, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of metalling roads in the said special rating area, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 53; against the proposal, none.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Pukekura Riding, Waipa County, taken on the 27th day of March, 1919, on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of metalling roads in the Pukekura Riding for the first time, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 7, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19.

I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Hamilton Riding, Waipa County, taken on the 27th day of March, 1919, on the proposal of the Waipa County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of metalling roads in the Hamilton Riding for the first time, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 53, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

IN pursuance of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Bromley Hall Special Loan Area, in the Bromley Riding of the County of Heathcote, taken on the 24th day of March, 1919, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of providing a public hall, the number of valid votes recorded for the proposal was 34, and the number of valid votes recorded against the proposal was 29.

As the number of votes recorded for the proposal did not exceed three-fifths of the total number of votes recorded, I therefore declare the proposal rejected.

Notice of Intention to take Land for Scenic Purposes in Block III, Whangaroa Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenic purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Totara North, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 706 acres.
