Appointing a Member of the Timaru Harbour Board.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he resigns his office by writing under his hand delivered to the Secretary or Chairman of the Board :
And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen, the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :
And whereas Charles Edward Stickings, an elective member of the Timaru Harbour Board, being a representative of the electors of the combined district of Tengawai and Point Ridings of the Levels County and the Pleasant Point Town District, has resigned his office as a member of the Board, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person as a representative of that district in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the herein-before-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint Tertius Bruce Garrick, of Timaru, to be a member of the Timaru Harbour Board as a representative of the electors of the combined district of Tengawai and Point Ridings of the Levels County and the Pleasant Point Town District, in the place of Charles Edward Stickings, resigned.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Celebration of St. George’s Day.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by regulation No. 66 of the regulations issued in accordance with the provisions of section thirty-four of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is provided, inter alia, that the Governor-General in Council may authorize that certain days shall be observed as holidays in the Public Service in lieu of any of the days specifically referred to in such regulation :
And whereas it is provided that the twenty-third day of April in each year shall be observed as a public holiday in celebration of St. George’s Day :
And whereas it is desirable that the celebration of St. George’s Day, for the present year, should be observed on the twenty-fifth day of April :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said regulation, and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby appoint that the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, shall be observed as a holiday in celebration of St. George’s Day.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Grace of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
