In pursuance of the By-laws Act, 1910, I hereby confirm the within-written motor by-law, and declare that the same came into force on the 13th day of February, 1919.

Redefining Boundaries of Borough of Birkenhead.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 20 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, the boundaries of the Borough of Birkenhead are hereby defined as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 21st day of January, 1919, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, as amended by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, and published in Gazette No. 10, of the 30th day of January, 1919.
SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF BIRKENHEAD.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded towards the north and north-east by Hellyer’s Creek and Kaipatiki Creek from Waitemata Harbour to the road at the head of the latter creek, and by that road to Section 126, Parish of Takapuna, by that section and Section 127 to a point in line with the northern boundary of Allotment 11 of Section 121, Parish of Takapuna; thence to and by the northern boundary of that allotment and the northern boundaries of Allotments 10 and 8 of the said Section 121 to the south-western corner of Allotment 27; thence by Allotments 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 4, and 3, Section 121 aforesaid, to the Great North Road, by that road to a point in line with the southern side of the road forming the northern boundary of Section 3, Parish of Takapuna; thence to and by the southern side of that road, and by Sections 6, 5, and 4 to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence across a road to the north-eastern corner of Section 57, and by the eastern boundary of that section to Section 58, by the north-eastern boundary of Section 58 to the north-western arm of Little Shoal Bay; thence by Little Shoal Bay to Waitemata Harbour; and thence towards the south and west generally by that harbour to Hellyer’s Creek, the place of commencement.

Meetings of Wellington Land Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 48 of the Land Act, 1908, approved of meetings of the Wellington Land Board being held at the District Lands and Survey Office, Government Insurance Buildings, Wellington, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, 30th April, 28th May, 25th June, 30th July, 27th August, 24th September, 29th October, and 26th November, 1919.

Disestablishment of District High School at Hawera and Establishment of a Technical High School.
Education Department,
Wellington, 19th March, 1919.
WHEREAS by virtue of the provisions of the Education Act, 1914 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), the Minister of Education, after consultation with the Education Board of the district and on the advice of the Council of Education, may disestablish any district high school in such district; and, by virtue of the same authority and on the like advice, may establish a technical high school in such district:
And whereas the Education Board of the District of Taranaki has applied to the said Minister to establish a technical high school at Hawera in the said district, and with a view thereto has requested him to disestablish the Hawera District High School:
And whereas all conditions precedent required by the said Act to be observed and performed prior to the disestablishment of a district high school and the establishment of a technical high school under section 88 thereof have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the said Act, I, Joseph Alfred Hanan, Minister of Education, do hereby disestablish the said district high school at Hawera aforesaid as on the close of the 30th day of April, 1919, and I do establish thereat, as from the 1st day of May, 1919, a technical high school to be called “The Hawera Technical High School.”
