Officer authorized to convene Courts-martial and to confirm Findings and Sentences thereof.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of the Defence Amendment Act, 1912, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the undermentioned officer to convene general or district Courts-martial for the trial under that Act of such persons subject to military law as are for the time being under or within the territorial limits of his command; and empower such officer to confirm the findings and sentences of general or district Courts-martial, whether passed before or after the issue of this warrant:—
Lieutenant-Colonel THOMAS WILLIAM McDONALD, New Zealand Staff Corps, General Staff Officer, Wellington Military District, while commanding the Wellington Military District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Regulations for the New Zealand Army Medical Department and New Zealand Army Medical Corps.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations under that Act in relation to the New Zealand Army Medical Department and New Zealand Army Medical Corps; and I do hereby declare that such regulations shall come into force as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
PART I.—NEW ZEALAND ARMY MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.
Establishment.

THE New Zealand Army Medical Department is hereby constituted, and established as part of the Permanent Staff of the Defence Forces.

The Directing Staff of the New Zealand Army Medical Department shall consist of:—
(a.) The Director of Medical Services.
(b.) Four Assistant Directors of Medical Services attached to district commands.
(c.) Such other officers as may from time to time be appointed to the New Zealand Army Medical Department.
PART II.—NEW ZEALAND ARMY MEDICAL CORPS.
Establishment.

The New Zealand Army Medical Corps is hereby constituted, and established as part of the Permanent Force.

The establishment of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps shall consist of such number of warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men as may from time to time be authorized by the Minister of Defence.
PART III.—GENERAL.
Administration and Control.
- The New Zealand Army Medical Department and the New Zealand Army Medical Corps will be administered and controlled by the Director of Medical Services.
Qualifications for Enrolment.
- Candidates for enrolment in the New Zealand Army Medical Corps must be between the ages of nineteen and forty-six years, and before acceptance will require to pass a medical examination. Preference of selection will be given to candidates who possess qualifications as chemists, nurses, operating-room attendants, or masseurs.
Pay and Allowances.
- The pay and allowances for officers of the New Zealand Army Medical Department, and warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps, will be as laid down in the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations,
Promotion.
- Promotion to any rank below that of warrant officer in the New Zealand Army Medical Corps will be made by the Director of Medical Services from amongst those members of the corps who have passed the necessary examinations and are recommended by their commanding officers. Promotion to warrant rank will be subject to the approval of the Commandant.
Discharge.
- Any warrant officer, non-commissioned officer, or man of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps who proves unsuitable may be discharged at any time, subject to the approval of the Director of Medical Services.
Sick-leave and Medical Attendance.
- Sick-leave and medical attendance will be granted as laid down for the New Zealand Permanent Staff in the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations.
Records.

The Director of Medical Services will be responsible for the safe custody of all documents relating to the attestation and service of members of the New Zealand Army Medical Corps.

All attestations, promotions, appointments, reversions, and discharges will be notified in corps orders.
