Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the Territorial Force.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force, and the reposting of officers from the N.Z. Expeditionary Force to the Territorial Force.


APPOINTMENTS.

Major Walter Crowther, 8th (Southland) Regiment, relinquishes the appointment of Group Commander, Group No. 14. Dated 28th January, 1919.

Major Charles Victor Leeming, M.C., N.Z. Field Artillery, E Battery, was appointed General Staff Officer (temp.), Canterbury Military District. Dated 8th November, 1918.

The undermentioned relinquish the appointment of Ship's Adjutants and Quartermaster on a transport, and are struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F., with effect from dates specified:—

Lieutenant (temp.) Murdoch McKenzie Millikin, 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own). Dated 5th March, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) George Finlay, N.Z. Garrison Artillery, Wellington G.A. Division, and relinquishes the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 14th March, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Charles Arthur Beauchamp Pickard Hawkins, Unattached List (b), General List, vacated the appointment of Adjutant, Cl Camp, was attached for duty to the Remount Depot, Featherston, dated 10th January, 1919, and relinquishes the appointment and temporary rank of Captain. Dated 19th February, 1919.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Leslie Miles, Unattached List (a), relinquishes the appointment of Deputy Director of Recruiting and temporary rank of Captain. Dated 28th February, 1919.

Staff Sergeant-Major (temp. Lieutenant) Alfred George Baker (Royal Engineers), N.Z. Permanent Staff, relinquishes the appointment of Signalling Instructor in N.Z. Expeditionary Force training-camps, and the temporary rank of Lieutenant. Dated 23rd February, 1919.

Sergeant-Major Victor George Jones, Royal New Zealand Artillery, is appointed Adjutant (temp.), Otago Field Artillery Brigade, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant whilst so employed. Dated 1st March, 1919.

Lieutenant Charles Henry Moltzen, Corps of New Zealand Engineers, N.Z. Post and Telegraph Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Gisborne. Dated 8th February, 1919.

Captain (temp.) Cecil Stuart Robertson relinquishes the appointment of Staff Paymaster and Inspector of Camp Pay Staffs, and the temporary rank of Captain. Dated 15th March, 1919.

1ST MOUNTED RIFLES (CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY).

Captain Thomas Henry Overton is posted to the Retired List with the honorary rank of Major. Dated 4th March, 1919.

QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S 2ND (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant Francis Arthur Nelson to be Captain. Dated 19th February, 1918.

4TH (WAIKATO) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain William Loch Ranstead is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 24th February, 1919.

Lieutenant William Fletcher Wallis (Reserve of Officers) ceases to be attached for duty. Dated 13th February, 1919.

10TH (NELSON) MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant Lawrence Clervaux Chaytor, M.C., to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 1st March, 1919.

N.Z. GARRISON ARTILLERY.

Auckland G.A. Division.

Captain William Robert Golden to be Major, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 1st December, 1918.

Lieutenant Richard Allan Hogan to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 1st December, 1918.

Major Edgar Vernon Bevan is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 14th February, 1919.
