And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum. And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this third day of March, 1919.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor-General, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:

And whereas the Waikohu County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Waikohu County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this third day of March, 1919.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR JAMES ALLEN, K.C.B., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the street and portions of streets described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become county roads.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Taranaki Land District, Waitomo County, Totoro Survey District, Aria Township, known as Manuka Street, commencing at its junction with Aria Street, and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction to its junction with Kumara Road; being a distance of 24·40 chains, more or less.

Also all that road in the said land district, county, survey district, and township known as Aria Street, commencing at its junction with Tawa Street, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction to a point opposite the boundary between Sections 34 and 33, Aria Township; being a distance of 14 chains, more or less.

Also all that road in the said land district, county, survey district, and township known as Tawa Street, commencing at its junction with the Kumara Road, and proceeding thence in a westerly direction to its junction with Aria Street; being a distance of 7 chains, more or less.

As the said street and portions of streets are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45581, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

ALL that street situated in the Canterbury Land District, Borough of Waimate, abutting on Sections 3 to 10, 11 to 16, of subdivisions of Reserve 2549, Block XIV, Waimate Survey District. As the said street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 45607, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
