Captain W. E. L. Napier, M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Major whilst acting as Second in Command, 3rd (Reserve) Battalion, vice Major H. J. Moore-Jones, placed on the N.Z. Roll. Dated 4th October, 1918.

Lieutenant W. V. Quane is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst commanding a company of the Composite Reserve Battalion, to date 22nd September, 1918; and relinquishes the temporary rank on termination of the appointment. Dated 4th October, 1918.

CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

The undermentioned cease to be seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 4th October, 1918 :-

Lieutenant H. Henderson, returned from New Zealand, is removed from the N.Z. Roll. Dated 4th October, 1918.

Captain E. J. Fawcett, M.C., discharged in England on account of ill health caused by wounds, is struck off the strength of the N.Z.E.F. Dated 5th October, 1918.

Major J. Anderson is seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 30th September, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant J. G. Harcourt is seconded for duty as Assistant Instructor, Third Army Infantry School, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 13th September, 1918.

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) J. Lumley relinquishes the appointment of O.C. of a light trench-mortar battery, and the temporary rank of Captain, but remains seconded for duty to New Zealand. Dated 29th September, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant C. O. Pratt to be O.C. of a light trench-mortar battery, vice Lieutenant J. Lumley, returning to New Zealand, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain and remains seconded whilst so employed. Dated 29th September, 1918.

Captain S. Natusch, M.C., relinquishes the appointment of a Company Commander, N.Z. Convalescent Hospital, but remains seconded for duty as Educational Officer, N.Z. Convalescent Hospital. Dated 11th October, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant D. Howlett, M.M., proceeding overseas, relinquishes the appointment of a Platoon Commander, 3rd (Reserve) Battalion. Dated 8th October, 1918.
