Sister Mary Francis Looney, A.R.R.C., to be Matron (temp.) whilst holding the appointment of Matron, Invercargill Soldiers’ Convalescent Home. Dated 18th January, 1919. The Christian names of Staff Nurse Dorothy Evelyn Moore are as now described, and not as stated in the New Zealand Gazette No. 176, of 6th December, 1917.

Edward James Shearne, dated 8th January, 1919; and retains the temporary rank of 2nd Lieutenant until further notice from the same date.

Notice respecting Proposed Tokomairiro River District, County of Bruce.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the River Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a river district under the said Acts, by name the Tokomairiro River District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said river district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF THE PROPOSED TOKOMAIRO RIVER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District commencing at the north-western corner of Section 122, Block XIV, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of Section 1, Block II, of Table Hill Survey District, to the Tokomairiro River; thence by the southern boundary of road forming the southern boundary of Section 9, Block I, Table Hill Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of Section 121, Block XIV, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the southern boundary of Section 40, Block V, Tokomairiro Survey District, along that boundary, across a road, and along the southern boundary of Section 45, Block VI, Tokomairiro Survey District, to the Southern Trunk Railway; thence along that railway forming the eastern boundaries of Sections 44, 43, across a road, Sections 108, 109, 110, to the southernmost corner of that section, across railway, and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 104, Block XII, Tokomairiro Survey District, across a road, and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 99 to its north-eastern corner; thence along the eastern boundary of Sections 98, 97, 96, to the road at the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; along the road forming the northern boundary of Section 95, Block XI, Tokomairiro Survey District, to its north-eastern corner; thence along the road forming the eastern boundary of Sections 95, 94, part 93, cemetery reserve, the other part of Section 93, 92, 92A, 91, 90, Block XI, Tokomairiro Survey District, across a road, and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 142 and 141 to a point on the western boundary of Killingholme Street in line with the northern boundary of Black Street; thence towards the north-east to and along Black Street and Spurn Street to a point in Spurn Street in line with the southern boundary of Block XVIII, Town of Fairfax; thence in a south-easterly direction to and along the south-western boundaries of Blocks XVIII and XIX, Town of Fairfax, to the south-eastern corner of the said Block XIX; thence to the western corner of Section 1, Block XI; thence along Galway Street to the most southern point of Block XI, Town of Fairfax; thence in a straight line to the north-western corner of Section 149, Block XIX, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence generally towards the south following the Tokomairiro River to the south-eastern corner of 2 of 27, Block I, of Akatore Survey District; thence towards the east along a road-line to the southern boundary of Section 35, Block I, Akatore Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section, and crossing the said river to the northern road-line intersecting Sections 2 of 4 and 1 of 4, Block I, Kaitangata Survey District; thence towards the north-west along the said road-line to the river-bank road-line; thence towards the north along the river-bank road-line to the south-eastern corner of Section 3, Block XXVIII, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence in a northerly direction along that road forming the eastern boundary of Section 3, across a road and the road intersecting Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, Block XXIX, Tokomairiro Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the north-western boundary of Sections 5 and 8 to the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Block XXVIII, Tokomairiro Survey District; thence along the southern boundary of the last-mentioned section to its south-western corner; thence along the road-boundary of Sections 1 and 2 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the northern boundary of Section 4, Block XXXI, Tokomairiro Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, to the road at the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along that road forming the southern boundaries of Section 8, Block XXXI, Tokomairiro Survey District, across a road, and along the road forming
