Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of section eighty of the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do by this notice hereby close the roads hereinafter described; and I do hereby declare that the said roads shall thereupon become subject to the said Act.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Staff Corps and Territorial Force.
APPOINTMENTS.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) John Evelyn Duigan, D.S.O., p.s.c., N.Z. Staff Corps, vacated his appointment as Chief Infantry Instructor, Featherston Military Camp, on 30th October, 1918, retaining the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst attached to General Headquarters for special duty, and is appointed General Staff Officer (temp.), Auckland Military District, with the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so acting, with effect from 9th January, 1919.
Captain Peter Bain Henderson, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Machine-gun Instructor, Featherston Military Camp, and is appointed Machine-gun Instructor (temp.), Trentham School. Dated 13th January, 1919.
Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Joseph McNaughton Christie, M.D., is granted the temporary rank of Colonel whilst employed as Consulting Surgeon to the N.Z. Expeditionary Forces. Dated 20th January, 1919.
Captain Richard Edward Joseph Martin, Unattached List (b), relinquishes the appointment of Ship's Adjutant and Quartermaster on H.M.N.Z. transports, and is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force. Dated 13th February, 1919.
Captain William Watson, M.C., Unattached List (b), General List, is appointed Assistant Provost Marshal, Auckland Military District. Dated 14th November, 1918.
Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) James Herbert Graham Robertson, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Principal Medical Officer, Featherston Military Camp, and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 23rd January, 1919.
2nd Lieutenant Samuel Frickleton, V.C., N.Z. Rifle Brigade, Earl of Liverpool's Own, is appointed Assistant Provost Marshal, Wellington Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant whilst so employed. Dated 21st December, 1918.

Major Alfred James McCredie is appointed Officer Commanding, and is granted the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 8th January, 1919.

2nd Lieutenant (temp.) Horace Leonard Rogers resigns his appointment. Dated 20th January, 1919.
14TH (SOUTH OTAGO) REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant (temp.) William Fergie to be Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 22nd January, 1919.
16TH (WAIKATO) REGIMENT.
Company Sergeant-Major Eugene Hamuera Ormsby to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 22nd January, 1919.
17TH (RUAHINE) REGIMENT.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 103, of 14th September, 1916, relating to 2nd Lieutenant Raymond Lee is cancelled, and the following substituted :-
2nd Lieutenant Raymond Lee is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, and reposted to the regiment. Dated 9th August, 1916.
