HIS Excellency the Governor-General has approved, under section 43 (1) of the Defence Act, 1909, of the disbandment of the undermentioned Defence Rifle Clubs :-

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Tauranga, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Te Puna Riding of the County of Tauranga was taken on the 29th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Tauranga County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for metalling the main roads in the said riding, and for quarrying, breaking, carting, carrying, and spreading the metal and preparing the roads therefor.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 28, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Katikati Riding of the County of Tauranga was taken on the 29th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Tauranga County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for metalling the main roads in the said riding, and for quarrying, breaking, carting, carrying, and spreading the metal and preparing the roads therefor.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 39, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Maketu Riding of the County of Tauranga was taken on the 29th day of November, 1919, on the proposal of the Tauranga County Council to borrow the sum of £4,900 for metalling the main roads in the said riding, and for quarrying, breaking, carting, carrying, and spreading the metal and preparing roads therefor.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 80, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.
I therefore declare that the proposals were carried.
