AWAKINO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Awakino County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds (£2,000), authorized to be raised by the Awakino County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for reforming, widening, culverting, and metalling the Mangaorongo Section of the Mahoenui-Kawhia Road, the said Awakino County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and seven-eighths pence (1¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Mangaorongo Special Rating Area, comprising the following sections: Section 1, Block XIV, Maungamangero S.D.; western half of Section 1, Block II, Awakino East S.D., containing 433 acres; Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block II, Awakino East S.D.; northern part of Puketiti No. 2A, containing 222 acres; southern part of Puketiti No. 3B part, containing 182 acres; western part of Mahoenui 1B Section 2C part, containing 42 acres.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of THE GOTHIC (LIMITED).

BY an order made by Sir Worley Bassett Edwards, a Judge of the Supreme Court, in the above matter dated the 2nd day of December, 1919, on the petition of Arthur Haworth, of Wanganui, Accountant, it was ordered that the Gothic Company (Limited) be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that Mr. E. M. SILK, D.O.A., of Wanganui, be appointed Official Liquidator of the said company.

KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Kaitieke County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of reforming and metalling portion of the Kaitieke Road, the Kaitieke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Raurimu-Kaitieke Special Rating Area, comprising the rateable properties within the following boundaries,—

Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 7 Block XII, and running along the eastern and northern boundaries of such Section 7 and Sections 8 and 14, the northern boundary of Section 14, and the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 11, Block XII, to the eastern boundary of Block XI; thence generally by the eastern and northern boundaries of Block XI to the western boundary of the Oio Valley Road; thence by such road boundary to the eastern corner of Section 10, Block VI; thence by the north-eastern boundaries of said Section 10 and Sections 3, 4, and 9, Block VI, to the northern corner of said Section 9; thence by the north-western boundary of said Section 9 to the Upokoera Trigonometrical Station; thence by the north-western boundary of Block IX to the Owairua Trigonometrical Station; thence by the western boundaries of Sections 5, 3, and 2, Block IX, to the south-western corner of such Section 2; thence by the southern boundary of such Section 2 and the western boundary of the same section and the western and southern boundaries of Section 41, Block X, to the eastern corner of such Section 41; thence generally by the southern boundaries of Blocks X and XI and of Section 1, Block XV, and Section 3, Block XVI, to the south-eastern corner of such Section 3; thence by the eastern boundary of such Section 3 and the southern boundaries of Sections 3, 4, and 1, Block XII, to the south-eastern corner of such Section 1; thence generally by the eastern boundary of such Section 1 to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block VII, Raurimu Township; thence by the southern boundaries of such Section 1 and Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block VII, Raurimu Township, and continuing in a straight line to the northern boundary of the Kaitieke Road; thence by the northern boundary of such road to the south-eastern corner of Section 7, Block XII, being the commencing-point: all such land above described and mentioned being in the Kaitieke Survey District.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until such loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Blenheim Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of waterworks for the supply of water to the said Borough of Blenheim; and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the Wairau Road Board, High Street, in Blenheim, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers in Alfred Street, Blenheim.
