Land taken for the Purposes of a Road in Blocks X and XIV, Alexandra Survey District, Raglan County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a road in Blocks X and XIV, Alexandra Survey District, Raglan County:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Situated in Pirongia Parish, Alexandra Survey District. (S.O. 20412.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 46701, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Knight of Justice of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.

Appointing Trustees for Building at Whakapirau, Kaipara.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of November, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 124, of the second day of August in that year, the management of a building which is erected on the foreshore at Whakapirau, Kaipara, and which is shown on plans marked M.D. 2719 and 2721, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, was vested in William Henry Heathcote Jackman, Henry Edward Fitzgerald McMurdo, and Thomas Henry Hanna, as trustees for the inhabitants of the district:

And whereas the said Henry Edward Fitzgerald McMurdo and Thomas Henry Hanna have resigned their positions as trustees, and it is desirable to appoint other trustees in their place:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

HENRY HABBERFIELD SHORT

to be trustees in respect of the said building for the inhabitants of the district, in place of Henry Edward Fitzgerald McMurdo and Thomas Henry Hanna, resigned.

Consenting to the raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of November, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:

And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out in column B therein:

And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
