and improvement generally of the roads in the Waikumete
Riding of the County of Waitemata, the said Waitemata
County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
one-sixteenth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value
of all rateable property in the Waikumete Riding of the
County of Waitemata; and that such special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of December in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND IN HOROWHENUA XIB
36, SUBDIVISION 2L 1B, UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT,
1908, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING A PUBLIC ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Horowhenua County
Council, under the provisions of the Public Works
Act, 1908, proposes to execute a certain public work—
namely, a road through the above-named subdivision; and
for the purposes of such public work the land described in
the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the County
Clerk for the Horowhenua County in Oxford Street, Levin,
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the taking of the said land must, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of such public work
or the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first publi-
cation of this notice, to the said County Clerk at his said
office.
THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.
All that parcel of land situate in the County of Horowhenua,
containing one acre one rood and twenty-eight perches
(1 a. 1 r. 28 p.), more or less, being part of the Native Land
Court subdivision known as Horowhenua XIB 36, Subdivision
2L 1B, and coloured red on plan.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—LOAN OF £3,000.—
MURRAY'S TRACK NO. 2.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the
Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in
respect of principal and interest and also the other charges
on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei
County Council, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
for the purpose of metalling for the first time on Murray's
Track Road from its junction with Pukemapou Road south-
wards for a distance of about 2½ miles, also on Wairepu East
and West Roads from their junction with Murray's Track
Road for distances of about 24 chains and 34 chains re-
spectively, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of
the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one penny and one halfpenny
(1½d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the
Murray's Track No. 2 Special Rating District, comprising
Sections part 5 (100 acres), part 6 (100 acres), part 7 (100 acres),
part 8 (100 acres), part 9 (100 acres), 10, part 11 (50 acres),
part 12 (50 acres), part 13 (75 acres), 14, 15, 16, 17A, part 18
(100 acres), part 19 (65 acres), part 20 (100 acres), part 21
(100 acres), and part Run 32 (1,000 acres), in Block VII,
Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 5A, 6, 8, 9, 9A, 9B, 10, 11, 12, part 13
(100 acres), part 14 (100 acres), 15, 16, part 20 (50 acres),
part 24A (63 acres), and part 25 (228 acres), in Block VIII,
all in the Tiriraukawa Survey District. As the said special
rating district is more particularly shown upon the map
attached to the ratepayers' consent to the said loan, and
thereon bordered red.
And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of May in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and
a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in
respect of principal and interest and also the other charges
on a loan of £2,500, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei
County Council, under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913,
for the purpose of forming and culverting the Kotukuraeroa
Road from the Otuarei Road to the south-east corner of
Awarua 3A No. 2H Block, and metalling for the first time
about 30 chains of the said Kotukuraeroa Road from the
Otuarei Road eastwards, and the cost of raising the loan
to be paid out of the loan, the said Rangitikei County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-thirds of a
penny (⅔d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value
(on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property
of the Kotukuraeroa Special Rating District, comprising—

Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the forma-
tion and construction of a public road at Tarapatiki; and
for that purpose the lands described in the Schedule hereto
are required to be taken.
And notice is likewise given that a plan of the said lands
is deposited at the office of the said Council in Queen Street
in the Borough of Wairoa, and is open for inspection (without
fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected are called upon to set forth in writing
any well-grounded objections they may have to the execution
of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands,
and to send such writing, within forty days from the first
