Rintoul Street, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this third day of November, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor-General, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose:
And whereas the Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the said street described in the Schedule hereto, has passed the following resolution—viz., “The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to Rintoul Street in the said city”:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that street in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Rintoul Street, situated between Riddiford Street and Leraud Street. As the said street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 47082, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution.

Validating Proceedings in connection with the Raising of a Loan of £1,085 by the Waimarino County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this third day of November, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Waimarino County Council, at a special meeting of the said Council held on the ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, duly passed a special order, which special order was confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the thirteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, authorizing the raising of a loan of one thousand and eighty-five pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of trimming, forming, and metalling the Raetihi–Ohura Road from the Manganui-o-te-Ao River Bridge northwards:
And whereas by subsection (b) of section ninety-seven of the Counties Act, 1908, it is provided that all special orders shall be confirmed at a subsequent meeting (either ordinary or special) held not sooner than the twenty-eighth day and not later than the seventieth day after such special meeting:
And whereas by subsection (c) of section ninety-seven of the last-mentioned Act it is required that public notice of the time and place fixed for such subsequent meeting and of such resolution shall be given once in each of the four weeks immediately preceding the day on which the subsequent meeting is to be held:
And whereas public notice of the time and place fixed for such subsequent meeting and of such resolution was duly advertised in the Waimarino County Call, a newspaper published at Raetihi, on the following days—fifteenth, twenty-second, and twenty-ninth days of August, and the fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen:
And whereas the above-mentioned confirming meeting was not held within seven days of the appearance of the last-mentioned advertisement:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the special order authorizing the raising of the said loan; and doth hereby declare that the proceedings relative to such loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the Gazette of the nineteenth day of that month, an area of 39 acres 2 roods 13 perches, as being Section 408, Parish of Waipu, Whangarei County Kauri-gum District, Whangarei County, in the North Auckland Land District, was set apart for disposal under section twenty of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912;
