Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 25th August, 1919.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Whakatane, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll re Surface Drainage Loan, £4,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers taken on Wednesday, the 13th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to borrow the sum of £4,000 to carry out a system of surface drainage for the borough, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 243, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 49, and the number of votes informal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll re Electric-power Plant Loan, £24,000.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers taken on Wednesday, the 13th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to borrow the sum of £24,000 for installation of an electric-power plant for the borough, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 242, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53, and the number of votes informal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers taken on Wednesday, the 13th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to borrow £25,000 for the installation of a high-pressure water-supply for the borough, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 251, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 44, and the number of votes informal was 2.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers taken on Wednesday, the 13th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council to borrow £17,500 for street-improvements and purchase of plant and material for the borough, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 253, the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 40, and the number of votes informal was 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Netherton Special Rating Area of the Ohinemuri County was taken on the 12th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Ohinemuri County Council to borrow the sum of £15,000 for the formation, construction, and metalling of roads in the said Netherton Special Rating Area.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 117, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 6.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OPUNAKE TOWN DISTRICT.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town of Opunake was taken on the 14th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Opunake Town Board to borrow the sum of £7,000 for electric lighting.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 59, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Taranaki taken on the 13th day of August, 1919, on the proposal of the Taranaki County Council to borrow the sum of £40,500 for purchase of plant and road improvements, the result of such poll in the various ridings was as follows :—
Mangorei Riding.—Special Loan, £6,900.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 73.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 26.
Waitara Riding.—Special Loan, £12,200.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 128.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 52.
Omata Riding.—Special Loan, £4,500.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 79.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
