Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Whaingaroa Riding was taken on the 16th day of August, 1919, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of forming and metalling various roads in the Whaingaroa Riding.
Total number of valid votes recorded, 125. For the proposal, 118; against the proposal, 7.
The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being at least three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of No. 1 Special Rating Area was taken on the 25th day of July, 1919, on the proposal of the Mangawara Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £1,500 for the purposes of the construction and improvement of drainage-works, including, where necessary, the removal of willows or other growths or obstructions.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 4, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 0.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in place of the beacon on the reef which has been carried away, a conical iron buoy painted red has been moored close to the Hapuka Rock, Astrolabe Road, Tasman Bay, in the following position: Hapuka Rock 300° (N. 76° W. magnetic) 300 ft. Depth of water, 9 fathoms M.L.W.S.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR.—PILE-DRIVER OFF HOBSON WHARF.

THE Auckland Harbour Board notify that a pile-driver is at present engaged taking borings to the north of the Hobson Wharf on the line of the proposed new Hobson Wharf. This pile-driver has five moorings laid out in north, south, east, and west directions. At night-time, when remaining at her moorings, she will show two white fixed lights, one at each end.
