Declaring Portion of Tirohia-Tahuna Road, in the Ohinemuri County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Tirohia-Tahuna Road, situated in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri County, commencing at its junction with the Paeroa-Te Aroha Road at a point about four miles and a half from Paeroa, and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction, adjoining or passing through Te Rae-o-te-Papa North E Section 3, the Waihou River, and Te Awaiiti In 2c, Block IV, Waitoa Survey District, and terminating at a point about fourteen chains distant from the left bank of the Waihou River, including the bridge across the said river, and situated on the said portion of road; being a distance of thirty chains and a half, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 46536, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured yellow.

Declaring Portion of Tangitu Survey District Access Road, in the Ohura County, to be a County Road.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1919.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Tangitu Survey District Access Road, in the Taranaki Land District, Ohura County, commencing at its junction with the Paraketu Road, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction between Sections 1, Block II, and 1 of Block VII, Tangitu Survey District, to a point opposite the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District; being a distance of fifty chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 46562, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this eleventh day of August, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

O N the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and gazetted the fifteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

SCHEDULE.

Whakahuwaka C No. 2 Block: Approximate area, 522 acres 1 rood; Omara Survey District.

Increasing Number of Members of National War Funds Council and appointing New Members thereof.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by an Order in Council dated the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, made under the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, a National War Funds Council was established for the purposes of the said Act, and certain persons were appointed to be members thereof:

And whereas John Roberts, Esquire, C.M.G., one of the members so appointed, has resigned from the said Council:

And whereas it is expedient to appoint a new member in place of the said John Roberts, and to appoint an additional member:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of every other power and authority in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

JAMES JOHN CLARK, Esquire, of Dunedin,

to be a member of the said National War Funds Council in place of the said John Roberts; and

HENRY HOLLAND, Esquire, of Christchurch,

to be an additional member thereof.

Prohibiting the Importation of Saccharin of Foreign Manufacture.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of August, 1919.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

W HEREAS by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, as extended by section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, prohibit the importation into New Zealand of any goods the prohibition of the importation of which is in his opinion necessary in the public interest:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is necessary in the public interest that the importation of saccharin should be prohibited to the extent and in the manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and section two of the Regulation of Trade and Commerce Amendment Act, 1915, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit the importation into the Dominion of New Zealand, save with the consent of the Minister of Customs, of saccharin which has not been manufactured or produced in some part of the British dominions.
