SCHEDULE.
TOKONUI DOMAIN.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 19 perches, more or less,
being Sections Nos. 9 to 15 inclusive, Block II, Town of
Tokonui. Bounded towards the north-west and north-
east by a public road along the bank of the Tokonui
Stream, 261 links, 301-9 links, and 335-8 links respectively;
towards the east by East Street, 478-9 links; towards the
south-east by Main Street, 600 links; towards the south-
west by Section No. 8 in the said block, 250 links; and
towards the west by the said public road along the bank of
the Tokonui Stream, 643-3 links. As the same is delineated
on the plan marked L. 4007, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

Amending Regulations under the Discharged Soldiers
Settlement Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day
of August, 1919.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement
Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"),
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of
New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
amend, in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto,
the regulations under the said Act made on the twentieth
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-second
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
SCHEDULE.
SUBCLAUSE (c) of clause 20 of the said regulations is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following proviso :-
"Provided that in special cases the Minister may, on the
recommendation of the Land Board, authorize an advance
not exceeding £350."

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of August, 1919.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of
the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that,
notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be
lawful or competent for any local authority or for any
Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to
borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by
way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any,
in that behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or
from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance
of a special Act or under any other authority whatever,
without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in
Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent
of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several
local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow
the loans set out in column "B" therein:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of
the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
loth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter
mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the
Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at which
the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no case
produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-quarter
pounds per centum per annum: and it is hereby declared
that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in
that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate
accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council
to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land
other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of August, 1919.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase
Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-
three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the
power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section,
His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further
period of six months the Order in Council dated the twentieth
day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, and
gazetted the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and eighteen, prohibiting all alienation of the
Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than aliena-
tion in favour of the Crown.
