Fixing Open Season for Godwits (Curlew).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of December, 1918.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, made under the Animals Protection Act, 1908, it was ordered and declared that the season during which godwits may be killed shall be the first day of January to the thirty-first day of March, both days inclusive, in each year, except in the Opotiki, Southland, and Auckland Acclimatization Districts: And whereas it is expedient to amend the said Order in Council:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Animals Protection Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the season during which godwits (Limosa Nova Zealandiae — native name Kauka or Hakakao) may be killed shall, except in the Opotiki and Southland Acclimatization Districts, be the first day of January to the thirty-first day of March, both days inclusive, in each year; provided that no such birds shall be trapped, netted, snared, or taken by any other means prohibited by the Animals Protection Act, 1908.

Nightcaps Town District not to be Part of County of Wallace.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Governor-General is satisfied that the population of the Nightcaps Town District, in the County of Wallace, exceeds five hundred, and the Town Board of the said Nightcaps Town District has made application that the said town district shall not form part of the County of Wallace, being the county within the boundaries of which it is situated :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the Nightcaps Town District shall not form part of the County of Wallace

Regulations under the Slaughtering and Inspection Amendment Act, 1918, as to Meat-export Licenses.—Notice No. 1950.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the authority conferred by the Slaughtering and Inspection Amendment Act, 1918, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations as to meat-export licenses.
REGULATIONS.

A MEAT-EXPORT license shall be in the form in the Schedule hereto.

Every such license shall be granted on the following terms and conditions :—
(a.) That the licensee will at all times during the currency of the license supply to the Minister of Agriculture all such information as the Minister shall require regarding the business in respect of which the license is in force, and will, if so required by the Minister, cause any information so supplied to be verified by a statutory declaration.
(b.) That the licensee will at all times during the currency of the license when so required by the Minister of Agriculture afford to the Minister, or to an officer of the New Zealand Government appointed by him in that behalf, reasonable facilities for examining all books, correspondence, or other documents relating to the said business.
- The fees to be paid for a meat-export license shall be as follows :—
(a.) On the issue of the first license in respect of any business: five pounds.
(b.) On the issue of any subsequent license for the same business: one pound.
SCHEDULE.
DOMINION OF NEW ZEALAND.
Meat-export License.
Under the Slaughtering and Inspection Amendment Act, 1918.
Pursuant to the application of __, of __, dated the __ day of __, 19, this license to carry on the business of a meat-exporter is hereby issued to the said __ under the provisions of the Slaughtering and Inspection Amendment Act, 1918, and on the terms and conditions set out in the regulations made under that Act and now in force.
This license will be in force for one year from the date hereof, unless previously revoked.

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £3,000 proposed to be raised by the Mangaorongo Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of December, 1918.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Mangaorongo Road Board lately proposed to raise a loan of three thousand pounds, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling the main road for the first time :
And whereas an irregularity or defect occurred both in the notice published in pursuance of section nine of the said Act and in the voting-paper used at the poll upon the said proposal, in that the term of the said loan (namely, thirty-six years and a half) was not set forth in such notice and voting-paper :
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is expedient to validate the same :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the terms of the said loan had been stated in the said notice and voting-paper, and that the proceedings shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity or defect aforesaid.
