THE following result of the election of a member of the Balclutha Fire Board by fire-insurance companies has been reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs, and is notified in accordance with the rules made under the Fire Brigades Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 23rd July, 1918, to be the day for holding the election of one member of the Gisborne Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. George Thorne-George.

Notice respecting Proposed Town District of Papatoetoe, County of Manukau.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a town district under the said Act, by name the Town District of Papatoetoe. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said district which they desire to make, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED PAPATOETOE TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block X, Otahuhu Survey District, bounded, commencing at the westernmost corner of Lot 13, shown on plan deposited at the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, numbered 9822, towards the north-west generally by Portage Road to the Tamaki River, and thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Allotment 14, Parish of Manurewa; towards the north generally by the said Allotment 14, by portion of Allotment 36, Parish of Manurewa aforesaid, containing 8 acres 0 roods 21Β·2 perches, shown on plan deposited as aforesaid, and numbered 3156, and again by Allotment 14, Parish of Manurewa aforesaid; towards the north-east generally by the Great South Road; towards the south-east by Puhinui Road to a point 1050 links south-west of Wyllie Road; towards the west generally by right lines parallel to Wyllie Road, to the southern boundary of Lot 11, shown on the town plan of Papatoetoe Extension No. 16, deposited at the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, and numbered 645 (green); thence by part of the southern boundary of Lot 11 aforesaid and the southern boundary of Lot 12, by Lot 22 (recreation reserve), and Hillside Road, all shown on town plan 645 aforesaid, to the production of the north-eastern boundary of Lot 19 on same plan; thence to and by the north-eastern boundary of Lot 19 aforesaid to its northernmost corner; thence by a right line to the north-eastern corner of Lot 3, shown on plan deposited at the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, numbered 9822 aforesaid; towards the south-east generally by the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, shown on plan 9822 aforesaid; and towards the south-west by the south-western boundaries of Lots 11 and 13, on aforesaid plan 9822, to the point of commencement.
