N.Z. DENTAL CORPS.
Captain George Kilgour Ingelow Stocker is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 21st May, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from 8th June, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 91, of 24th August, 1916), and retains the temporary rank of Captain until further notice.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Murray Kingsley Litchfield relinquishes the appointment of Dental Officer on H.M.N.Z. Hospital Ship “Marara” as from 16th May, 1918, and retains the temporary rank of Captain until further notice.
Honorary Captain William Edmond Reynolds relinquishes the honorary rank of Captain. Dated 30th November, 1917.
Sergeant Albert Binsted to be Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 11th June, 1918.

2nd Lieutenant Robert Erriton Burch Hopkirk is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 10th June, 1917, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 27th March, 1917 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 150, of the 4th October, 1917).
2nd Lieutenant George McKay Ross is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 30th May, 1918, and is posted with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 29th May, 1917.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

Notice fixing the Closing-hours of all Shops in the Havelock Town District, under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops within the Havelock Town District has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the Town District shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9 p.m., with the following exceptions—(a) The evening of the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and the evening of the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, when the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m.; (b) the evening of the working-day immediately preceding each of the following days, Boxing Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Labour Day, the birthday of the reigning Sovereign, and any day which, pursuant to a Proclamation by the Governor-General or declaration by the Government, or on the request of the Mayor or Chairman of the local authority, is generally observed as a public holiday or half-holiday, when the closing-hour shall be 9 p.m.; (c) should the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition pursuant to the provisions of section 11 (2) of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, observe Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Thursday for any such shops shall be 5.30 p.m.:
And whereas the Havelock Town Board has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops within the Havelock Town District:
Now, therefore, I, William Herbert Herries, Acting Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 25 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, do hereby direct that on and after the 1st day of July, 1918, all the shops in the Havelock Town District shall be closed accordingly.
