With reference to the notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 64, of the 2nd May, 1918, relating to Captain (Quartermaster) James Alfred Northcote, 1st Mounted Rifles (Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry), for the words “Dated 4th April, 1918,” read “Dated 30th April, 1918.”
With reference to the notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 64, of 2nd May, 1918, relating to the appointment of Captain (temp. Major) Arthur Stanley Herbert, M.B., M.R.C.S., Eng., N.Z. Medical Corps, for the words “King George Hospital, Rotorua,” read “Rotorua Sanatorium.”
The notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 115, of 7th October, 1915, “Appointment of Officers to the N.Z. Expeditionary Force,” relating to Captain (temp. Major) Joseph Sadlier Gill, N.Z. Garrison Artillery (Westport Division) is cancelled and the following substituted: Major Joseph Sadlier Gill, N.Z. Garrison Artillery (Westport Division).
With reference to the notification published in New Zealand Gazette No. 28, of 28th February, 1918, relating to Major Edwin Harrowell, 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own) Reserve of Officers, for the words “Dated 31st January, 1918,” read “Dated 8th December, 1917.”
With reference to the notice published in New Zealand Gazette No. 45, of the 28th March, 1918, relative to Captain (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) Thomas Arthur MacGibbon, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, delete the words “and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed” and insert “and retains the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel until further notice. Dated 9th May, 1918.”

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—Whangarei County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made by the Whangarei County Council, and sealed on the 23rd day of April, 1918, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Whangarei County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Date of Election to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on Dannevirke Fire Board by Fire-insurance Companies.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, and the rules made thereunder, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, being the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 11th June, 1918, to be the day for holding the election of one member of the Dannevirke Fire Board by the fire-insurance companies concerned, such election being held to fill an extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. H. M. Didsbury.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
THAT, on petition presented by the majority of the rate-payers of the Wairoa Road District, this Council resolves, by way of special order, that on and after 1st June, 1918, the said Wairoa Road District shall be merged in the County of Manukau, and the Board thereof shall be abolished.
The special order was confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the Council held in Auckland, on Tuesday, 14th May, 1918, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.
I hereby certify that the special order as above has been duly made, and the necessary notices inserted in the papers.
