IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of
the Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law
made by the Hutt County Council on the 12th day of
February, 1918, and sealed on the same day, as appoints the
several sums to be paid to the Hutt County funds for the
licensing of vehicles has this day been approved by His
Excellency the Governor-General.

THE following special order, made by the Wangaehu Road
Board, is published in accordance with the provisions
of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

UPPER WANGAEHU ROAD BOARD.
Special Order to raise a Loan of £700, to be called the Taihape-
Mataroa Road Loan.
At a special meeting of the Upper Wangaehu Road Board
held at Taihape on the 11th of April, 1917, it was resolved,
by way of special order, as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing a portion of the Upper
Wangaehu Road Board’s share of the cost of constructing
and reconstructing that portion of the Taihape-Mataroa
Road, situate in the Upper Wangaehu Road Board’s District,
commencing at the northern boundary of the Rangitikei
County, and proceeding in a north-westerly and then in a
westerly direction generally to its junction with the Mataroa
and Murray Track Roads, the Upper Wangaehu Road Board
hereby authorizes the raising of a special loan of £700, to be
known as the Taihape-Mataroa Road Loan, from the State
Advances Offices, for a period of thirty-six years and a half,
at the annual charge for interest and sinking fund prescribed
by the said State Advances Office; and that the said loan
shall be secured by an ½d. in the pound special rate to be
levied upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property
of the Upper Wangaehu Road District.
I, Peder Pedersen, Chairman of the Upper Wangaehu Road
Board, do hereby certify that the above special order was
duly made or adopted at a special meeting of the Upper
Wangaehu Road Board held on the 11th day of April, 1917,
and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Board held on
the 9th day of May, 1917.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries,
Papakura Town District.

It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to
His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town
Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the
Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Franklin County
and included in the Papakura Town District. All persons
affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objec-
tions to or petitions against the proposed alteration which
they desire to lodge within one month from the first pub-
lication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be
addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
Area proposed to be excluded from Franklin County
and included in Papakura Town District.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, and situated
in Drury Survey District, bounded towards the north-east
generally, commencing at the intersection of the north-eastern
side of East Street with the north-western side of Elliott
Street; thence by the north-eastern side of East Street to
Union Street, by the northern side of Union Street to the
eastern side of Great South Road; thence by the eastern
side of that road to Liverpool Street, by the north-eastern
side of Liverpool Street to the southernmost corner of Educa-
tion Reserve 31 of Section 10, Parish of Opaheke; thence
across Opaheke Road to the southernmost corner of Lot 1,
Section 93 of Opaheke Parish aforesaid; thence by the
western and northern boundaries of the last-mentioned lot
and the northern boundaries of Lots 2 and 3 of Section 93
to the Main Trunk Railway reserve, by the Main Trunk
Railway reserve to the south-eastern boundary of Section 99,
Opaheke Parish; thence towards the south generally by the
southern boundaries of Sections 99, 98, 97, 96, to the Opaheke
Road, by part of the western boundary of Section 96 afore-
said to a point in line with the south-western boundary of
Lot 8 of Section 15, Opaheke Parish, across Opaheke Road
to and by the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned
lot and the southern boundary of Lot 3 of Section 15 to the
Great South Road, across that road and by its western
boundary in a northerly direction to its intersection with
Beach Road; thence by the southern side of Beach Road
to a point in line with the western boundary of Allotment 11
of Section 8, Parish of Opaheke, across Beach Road to and
by the western and northern boundaries of Lot 11 aforesaid
and the northern boundaries of Lots 10, 9, 8, 7, of Section 8,
by the western boundaries of Lot 12, the abutment of Clark
Road and Lot 38 of Section 8, Opaheke Parish, to the Pahure-
hure Estuary, and by the eastern boundary of the said estuary
to the northern side of Elliott Street; thence towards the
north-west by the northern boundary of Elliott Street to its
intersection with the north-eastern boundary of East Street,
the place of commencement.
