Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the Territorial Force.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Territorial Force.

APPOINTMENTS.
Lieut.-Colonel Walter Relf Pearless (D.), M.R.C.S., Eng., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and is granted the pay of Lieut.-Colonel at Expeditionary Force rates whilst so acting. Dated 10th April, 1918.
Captain Frank Lockwood Atkinson, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board. Dated 30th April, 1918.
Lieutenant Charles Arthur Beauchamp Pickard Hawkins is appointed Adjutant, Cl Camp, and is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 13th April, 1918.
Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Leonard Hugh Booth, M.B., N.Z. Medical Corps, is appointed a member of a Special District Medical Board, and retains the temporary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 30th April, 1918.
Lieutenant William David Rose, N.Z. Dental Corps, appointed for duty in N.Z. Expeditionary Force training-camps on 3rd May, 1916, relinquishes the appointment. Dated 14th April, 1918.

PROMOTIONS, RESIGNATIONS, AND TRANSFERS.
11TH (NORTH AUCKLAND) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain Frank Norman Whitmore, M.C., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 22nd May, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 16th April, 1918 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 68, of the 9th May, 1918).

CORPS OF NEW ZEALAND ENGINEERS.
New Zealand Railway Battalions (North Island).
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 8th February, 1918 :-

2ND (SOUTH CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.
The undermentioned are transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 29th April, 1918 :—

16TH (WAIKATO) REGIMENT.

Lieutenant Ronald Bampton Morton is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 27th May, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 6th September, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 107, of the 21st September, 1916).

N.Z. RIFLE BRIGADE (EARL OF LIVERPOOL'S OWN), TERRITORIAL.
Lieutenant Robert William Turner is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 1st June, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 29th April, 1916 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of the 14th December, 1916).

N.Z. ARMY SERVICE CORPS. No. 10 Company.
2nd Lieutenant James Alfred Aitcheson is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 1st June, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 22nd July, 1914 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 84, of the 13th August, 1914).

N.Z. FORCES MOTOR SERVICE CORPS. Motor-boat Section (Canterbury).
Frederick William Anderson to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 19th April, 1918.
Robert Hatchwell to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.). Dated 19th April, 1918.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieut.-Colonel Walter Relf Pearless (D.), M.R.C.S., Eng., from the Retired List, to be Lieut.-Colonel. Dated 1st September, 1914.
George Redpath, M.B., to be Captain (temp.). Dated 4th August, 1917.
Lieut.-Colonel Walter Relf Pearless (D.), M.R.C.S., Eng., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 17th April, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieut.-Colonel, as from 1st September, 1914.
Captain George Redpath, M.B., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 11th April, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Captain (temp.), as from 4th August, 1917.
Captain Gavin Watson Hill, L.R.C.P., Edin., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 30th April, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Captain, as from 5th February, 1915 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of the 4th March, 1915).
Captain John Miller, L.R.C.S., Edin., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 27th March, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Captain (temp.), as from 11th April, 1917 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 3rd May, 1917).

NEW ZEALAND DENTAL CORPS.
The undermentioned to be Lieutenants (temp.) :-
Carl Rubinstein Prime. Dated 20th April, 1918.
Clarence Edward Woolley. Dated 24th April, 1918.
Corporal Charles Arthur Small. Dated 24th April, 1918.

Major Thomas Lawrence Ranstead is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 15th May, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from 15th October, 1913 (vide New Zealand Gazette No. 88, of the 11th December, 1913).
