Appointing Members of the Napier Harbour Board.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by section seventeen of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, that the office of any member of a Harbour Board shall become vacant if, inter alia, he is absent, without leave, from four consecutive meetings of the Board:

And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section eighteen of the said Act that when an elective member other than a representative of a constituent district vacates his office on the Board through the operation of the said section seventeen, the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place:

And whereas Thomas Ezekiel Crosse and Hugh McLean Campbell, elective members of the Napier Harbour Board being representatives of the combined district of the County of Wairoa within the Riding of Mohaka, and that portion of the County of Hawke’s Bay within the harbour district, have forfeited their seats through being absent, without leave, from four consecutive meetings of the Board, and it is desirable to appoint some qualified persons as representatives of that district in their places:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

PHILIP PARSONS, of Meeanee; and
WILLIAM KINROSS WHITE, of Napier,

to be members of the Napier Harbour Board as representatives of the combined district of the County of Wairoa within the Riding of Mohaka, and that portion of the County of Hawke’s Bay within the harbour district, in the place of Thomas Ezekiel Crosse and Hugh McLean Campbell.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
