Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Land taken for a Further Portion of the Stratford-Main Trunk Railway, being Portion of Matiere Section, up to 4 Miles 6609·7 Links.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Stratford-Main Trunk Railway—namely, portion of Matiere Section up to 4 miles 6609·7 links:
And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

Land taken for the Purposes of Drainage Works in Block V, Otahoua Survey District, Masterton County.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—viz., for the purpose of drainage works in Block V, Otahoua Survey District, Masterton County:
And whereas the Masterton Borough Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purpose of the said drainage works, and shall vest in the Corporation of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE AREA OF THE PIECE OF LAND TAKEN: 19 acres 3 roods 10·7 perches.
Portion of Lots 4 and 5 of Sections 41 and 42, D.P. 2412, Block V, Otahoua Survey District (Mangata R.D.).
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 44056, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirtieth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Declaring an Additional Disease under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1908, and extending the Second Schedule to that Act to include the said Disease.—Notice No. 1923.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third day of April, 1918.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, on and after the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the Gazette,
LEAF-ROLLER CATERPILLAR (Cacoccia excessana)
shall be a disease within the meaning of the said Act; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby extend the Second Schedule to the said Act by including the aforesaid disease therein.
