Section 63; and towards the west generally by the said
Section 63 (all the aforesaid sections being of the Suburbs of
Rotorua), the crossing of the old Tauranga-Taupo Road, and
by that road: save and excepting from the lands hereinbefore
described the portion of the old Tauranga-Taupo Road which
intersects the said land. As the same is delineated on plan
marked L. and S. 22/2123, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
edged red.

Amending the License authorizing the Dunedin City Council
to erect Electric Lines in Part of the Provincial District of
Otago.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third
day of April, 1918.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section two of the Public
Works Amendment Act, 1911, that the Governor-
General may, by Order in Council gazetted, make regulations
prescribing the conditions on which any license may be
issued under the said section:
And whereas by an Order in Council dated the thirteenth
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and
published in the Gazette of the sixteenth day of the same
month, the Dunedin City Council was authorized to erect
electric lines in part of the Provincial District of Otago, sub-
ject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule thereto (here-
inafter called the "said conditions"):
And whereas it is expedient to amend the said license by
revoking clause thirty of the said conditions:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him by section two of the Public Works Amend-
ment Act, 1911, and of every other power in anyway enabling
him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke clause thirty of the said conditions.

Authorizing the Exchange of a Reserve in Block VII, Geraldine
Survey District, Canterbury Land District, for other Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third
day of April, 1918.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the First Schedule
was heretofore duly set apart as a reserve for a
gravel-pit: And whereas it is expedient that the said land
should be exchanged for the land described in the Second
Schedule hereto, which the Governor-General deems of
equal value and more suitable for the purposes of the reserve:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon him by section twelve of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the land de-
scribed in the First Schedule hereto may be exchanged for
the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF RESERVE AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve 1057,
situated in Block VII, Geraldine Survey District, and bounded
as follows: Towards the north-west by a public road,
500 links; towards the north-east by Crown land and Sec-
tion 36198, 1000 links; towards the south-east by Sec-
tion 36198 aforesaid, 500 links; and towards the south-west
by Section 36198 aforesaid and Section 3826, 1000 links : be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/60, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 5 acres 0 roods 36 perches, more or less,
being Lots 9 and 10 of Reserve 2645, situated in Block XI,
Geraldine Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards
the north-west by Sections 33062 and 32782, 1753 links;
towards the north-east by Lot 11 of the said Reserve 2645;
towards the south-east by a public road, 1822 links; and
towards the south-west by Lot 8 of the said Reserve 2645;
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/60A, deposited
in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at
Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third
day of April, 1918.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of
the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that,
notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be
lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour
Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or
contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of
bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that
behalf), whether from the State Advances Office or from any
other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special
Act or under any other authority whatever, without the
precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent
of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local
authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the
loans set out in column B therein:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent
of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans
hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out
in the Schedule hereto, provided that the rate of interest at
which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no
case produce to the lender a return exceeding five and one-
quarter pounds per centum per annum; and it is hereby
declared that this Order in Council is made under the pro-
visions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and
shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-
General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby autho-
rized.
