boundary-lines of Sections 23, 22, and 21 to a point at the
south-west corner of Section 21 ; thence across the road and
by the western boundary-line of Section 21, and the southern
boundary-lines of 27 and 26 (all in Block II (2), Catlins S.D.),
to the block-line between Blocks II (2) and IV, Catlins S.D.,
to the eastern side of Section 56, Block IV, Catlins S.D. ;
thence by the eastern boundary-lines of Sections 56 and 57
in a southerly direction, and by the west and south-western
boundary-lines of Sections 57 and 56, and by the southern
boundary-line of Section 53, and by the southern and western
boundary-line of Section 52, and by the western boundary-
lines of Sections 35, 25, and 24, all in Block IV, Catlins S.D.,
to the point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution is a true copy of
a resolution passed at a meeting of the Clutha County Council
held on the 5th day of April, 1918.

IN LIQUIDATION.

N OTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of shareholders
held on the 9th instant the following resolution was
passed :—

That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting
that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and
accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily ; and
that WILLIAM CAMERON STEPHENS and HENRY BALDWIN be
and they are hereby appointed Liquidators for the purposes
of such winding-up.

KOPUTARU ROAD LOAN OF £700.

RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £700, authorized to be raised by the
Manawatu County Council, under the above-mentioned Act,
for the purpose of providing the cost of construction of portion
to Koputaru Road, the said Manawatu County Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of 13/16ths of one penny in
the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property
in the Koputaru Road Special Rating District, comprising
Lot pt. 22 of Section 322/3, containing an area of 200 acres,
in the occupation of George Coley, and Lot 23, Sections 310/11,
Section 321, Blocks IX and XIII, Te Kawau Survey District,
and all that portion of the Wellington-Manawatu Railway
Company’s endowment situated to the north of the southern
boundary of Block III, Sandy, containing 2,394 acres, in
the occupation of Messrs. Dalrymple and Wilson.

Such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly upon
the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or
until the loan is fully paid off. First year’s interest to be
paid out of loan.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolu-
tion passed by the Manawatu County Council at a meeting
held on 11th day of March, 1918.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto en-
ableing, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as
follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan
of four thousand pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised
by the Waitomo County Council, under the above-men-
tioned Act, for the purpose of completing the metalling
of the Hangatiki-Otorohanga Road from the end of the
metalling at the Hangatiki Road junction to the end of
the metal coming from Otorohanga, and to form, culvert,
and metal portions of the Puketawai and Tahaia Roads,
also to grant £100 towards the cost of constructing a
railway-siding at Mangamutu, the said Waitomo County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one
penny and seven-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling
on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value)
of all rateable property in the Tahaia Special Rating
Area, being bounded as follows :—

Commencing at the Hangatiki Railway-station, and
following the Hangatiki-Otorohanga Road in a north-
easterly direction to the north-west boundary of Manga-
apa 4b No. 2b ; thence along the northern boundary of
the said section to a point parallel with a point on the
southern boundary of the said Section Mangarapa 4b
No. 2b, drawing an imaginary line cutting the section in
half ; thence along the southern boundary of Manga-
apa 4b No. 2b in an easterly direction to the north-east
corner of Section 1, Block XII, Orahiri Survey District ;
thence along the eastern boundaries in a southerly direc-
tion of Sections 1 and 2, Block XII, Orahiri, part of Sec-
tion 1, Block XVI, Orahiri, to the north-west corner of
Te Kuiti No. 2b Section 14b ; thence along the northern
boundary of the said section to its north-east corner ;
thence in a southerly direction along the eastern bound-
aries of Te Kuiti 2b Section 14b, Te Kuiti 2b 9b, Te
Kuiti 2b Section 22b, to the north-west corner of Rangi-
toto-Tuhua No. 71b ; thence along the northern boundaries
in an easterly direction of Rangitoto-Tuhua 71b, Rangi-
toto-Tuhua 69b, to the north-western boundary of Rangi-
toto-Tuhua No. 26D 2 ; thence along the western boundary
of the said section in a northerly direction to a point
directly opposite the north-west corner of Rangitoto-
Tuhua No. 26b ; thence drawing an imaginary line from
that point to the north-west corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua
No. 26b ; thence along the northern boundary of the said
section to the Mangawhero Stream ; thence following the
Mangawhero Stream in a northerly direction to its junc-
tion with the Tahaia B Block ; thence along the southern
boundary of the Tahaia B Block to a point directly oppo-
site a point on the northern boundary of Tahaia B Block
near its junction with the Mangawhero Stream, so as to
include the Sections Tahaia B No. 1 part (200 acres),
Tahaia B No. 2A part (200 acres), Tahaia B No. 2 part
(200 acres) ; thence in a westerly direction (from the point
mentioned on the northern boundary of Tahaia B Block
near the Mangawhero Stream) along the southern bound-
ary and the western boundary of Section 2 and the
southern boundary of Section 4, Block VIII, Orahiri, to
the Mangapu Stream ; thence along the Mangapu Stream
in a southerly direction to the north-east corner of Puke-
roa-Hangatiki No. 2c Section 3 ; thence along the western
boundary of the said section to the Mangapu Stream ;
again thence along the Mangapu Stream in a southerly
direction to its junction with the Mangaokewa Stream ;
thence along the Mangaokewa Stream in a southerly direc-
