Vesting a Reserve for Water-supply Purposes in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Ekatahuna Borough.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this sixteenth day of April, 1918.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for water-supply purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient that the said land should be vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Ekatahuna Borough:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section four of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Ekatahuna Borough, in trust, for water-supply purposes.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 2,045 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less, being Section 3, Block XIII, Tararua Survey District. Bounded towards the east by Section 2, 6524·6 links, by the abutment of Kai-paroro Road, by the crossing of Makakahi River, by the abutment of a river-bank reserve, and by Section 1, 8953·5 and 519·9 links, all in Block XIII aforesaid; again towards the east, south, and west generally by Crown land, by State forest reserve, and again by Crown land: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same s delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/1/134, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Hobson Acclimatization District defined.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint those parts of the said Dominion described in the Schedule hereto to be a district under and for the purposes of the said Act, and I do hereby declare that such district shall be known as the Hobson Acclimatization District.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, commencing on the sea-coast at the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District; and bounded by the southern boundaries of Blocks I, II, III, and IV, Waipoua Survey District, to a public road, across that road, and by the western, southern, and south-eastern boundaries of Section 10, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section, across a public road, and by the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 6, and 7, Block V, Tutamoe Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 5, Block I, Tutamoe Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 5, 4, 3, and 14 of the last-mentioned block, and part of the southern boundary of Section 5, Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, to the intersection of a line running between the north-western corner of Section 3, Block XIII, Punakitere Survey District, and Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence by the last-mentioned line to Tutamoe Trig. Station; thence generally by the northern and north-eastern boundary of Hobson County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1917, page 3065, to the Otamatea County; thence by the northern boundary of Otamatea County as described in New Zealand Statutes, 1886, page 315,

to the main road to Waipoua; thence by the western side of that road through Maungaturoto to the Great North Road, and by the western side of that road to the eastern boundary of Otamatea County; thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of Otamatea County, the eastern and southern boundaries of Hobson County, to the sea; thence by the sea to the north-western corner of Block V, Waipoua Survey District, the place of commencement.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this fifteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Celebration of St. George’s Day.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by regulation No. 66 of the regulations issued in accordance with the provisions of section thirty-four of the Public Service Act, 1912, it is provided, inter alia, that the Governor-General in Council may authorize that certain days shall be observed as holidays in the Public Service in lieu of any of the days specifically referred to in such regulation:

And whereas it is provided that the twenty-third day of April in each year shall be observed as a public holiday in celebration of St. George’s Day:

And whereas it is desirable that the celebration of St. George’s Day, for the present year, should be observed on the twenty-fifth day of April:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by the said regulation, and of every other power and authority enabling me in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby appoint that the twenty-fifth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen, shall be observed as a holiday in celebration of St. George’s Day.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Member of His Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this sixteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighteen.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General, for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was heretofore duly set apart as a site for a drill-shed, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose for which such reserve was so set apart.

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act, as aforesaid, declare that the purpose of the said reserve is hereby changed from a site for a drill-shed to a site for public buildings of the General Government: And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.
