2nd Lieutenant George Augustus Avey to be Lieutenant under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 8th February, 1918.
1ST (CANTERBURY) REGIMENT.
Lieutenant Andrew Douglas Wilkie is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 16th April, 1918, and is absorbed into the regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 8th August, 1917, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 139, of the 6th September, 1917.
12TH (NELSON AND MARLBOROUGH) REGIMENT.
Captain William Norris Masefield is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 15th April, 1918, and is absorbed into the Regiment with his original rank and seniority therein—viz., Lieutenant, as from 30th July, 1917, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 129, of the 16th August, 1917.

Ernest James Cooke, M.B., to be Captain. Dated 16th March, 1918.
Major (temp.) William R. Stowe, M.R.C.S., Eng., is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 27th March, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Major (temp.), as from 1st December, 1915, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 143, of the 16th December, 1915.

Captain Edward Holdsworth Buckeridge is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 16th April, 1918, and is absorbed with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from 26th March, 1917, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 141, of the 13th September, 1917.
Arthur George Pilkington is granted the temporary rank of Captain whilst acting as Military Representative to a Military Service Board. Dated 14th November, 1916.
Lieutenant Frederick Gordon Ashley Couper is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 16th April, 1918, and is posted to the Unattached List (b), General List, with his original rank and seniority—viz., Lieutenant, as from 22nd July, 1916, vide New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 20th July, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Patrick Gilbert Ford is struck off the strength of the N.Z. Expeditionary Force, with effect from 15th April, 1918, and is posted to the Unattached List (b), General List, with his original rank and seniority—viz., 2nd Lieutenant, as from 9th April, 1917.

With reference to the notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 101, of the 26th August, 1915, under the heading “1st (Canterbury) Regiment,” the seniority of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants is as now shown, and not as therein stated:—

With reference to the notification published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 132, of the 23rd August, 1917, relating to 2nd Lieutenant Augustine Georgetti, for the words “Unattached List (b), General List,” read “9th (Wellington East Coast) Mounted Rifles.”
