Special Order made by the Taranaki County Council merging
Portion of Waitara West Road District in Moa Road District.

THE following special order, made by the Taranaki
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913.

TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order merging Portion of Waitara West Road District
into the Moa Road District.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by
section 10 of the Road Districts Act, 1908, the Council resolves,
by way of special order, that the portion of the Waitara West
Road District as described in the Schedule hereunder be
annexed to the adjoining Moa Road District and cease to
form part of the Waitara Road District, as from the date of
coming into force of this special order.
SCHEDULE.
Sections 116, 206 (Huirangi District), Block 13, Waitara
Survey District; Sections 117, 118, 119, 120, 129, 130, 131,
132, 133, and 207 (Huirangi District), Block 13, Waitara
Survey District.
The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and In-
habitants of the County of Taranaki was affixed hereto by
the Chairman, John Connett, duly authorized by resolution
of the Council passed on the 4th day of February, 1918.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-law.—
Manawatu County Council.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 107 of the
Counties Act, 1908, that so much of the by-law made
by the Manawatu County Council on the 7th day of January,
1918, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Manawatu
County funds for the licensing of vehicles has this day been
approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Kettle Street, in the Town of
Havelock Extension No. 20, of a Width of not less than
66 ft.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I hereby
authorize the laying-off of Kettle Street, in the Town of
Havelock Extension No. 20, Hawke's Bay Land District, of
a width of not less than 66 ft. instead of 99 ft.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks XII, Patetere
North, and V, Patetere North - east Survey Districts, for
Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in
Blocks XII, Patetere North, and V, Patetere North-east
Survey Districts; and for the purposes of such public work
the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to
be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
post-office at Putaruru, and is there open for inspection;
and that all persons affected by the execution of the said
public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they
have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the
said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty
days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington.

taken :—

7 2 6 Whaiti-Kuranui 1A, north portion, Block XII,

particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 43463,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 5th April, 1918.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Wharepapa Road Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

WHAREPAPA ROAD BOARD.
Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Wharepapa Road District taken on the 20th day
of March, 1918, on the proposal of the Wharepapa Road
Board to borrow the sum of £5,000 for the purpose
of forming and metalling roads in the Wharepapa Road
District for the first time, the number of votes recorded for
the proposal was 73, and the number of votes recorded
against the proposal was 0 ; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Scheme for the Control of the Auckland Grammar School and
the Auckland Girls' Grammar School.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act,
1914, and with the powers hereunder, I, Josiah Alfred
Hanan, Minister of Education, do hereby, on the advice of
the General Council of Education, approve of the following
amendment in the scheme for the control of the Auckland
Grammar School and the Auckland Girls' Grammar School
as gazetted 15th July, 1915:—
Subclause (3) of clause 4 thereof is hereby deleted, and the
following substituted therefor,—
“(3.) The net fees to be charged to those who are not
holders of scholarships or free places shall be £13 10s. per
annum for those over thirteen, and £10 10s. per annum for
those under thirteen years of age.”
